If half the things I've heard are true then theres a helluva lot of dirty washing that MUST be aired in public so that the RFL, the Rugby League community in general and the Wakefield fans in particular know exactly what the people running our once proud club have done to besmirch our name and ruin our credibility.

There is another slant to the Parkin thing, although I may be way off the mark. Six years ago, he failed to get Leeds United (I have no idea why not). If he doesn't get us, does that suggest that he tries to get everything at rock bottom too much? Those with the deepest pockets sometimes have the shortest arms, and is his desire to get us more connected with how Newmarket will assist a football team? Are we just a mechanism for a bigger prize, which wouldn't be good for us.

Time will tell, but losing Parkin may not be a bad thing, and at least Mr Glover seems interested only in us as a rugby club, not as a means to getting a football club.

Although I might be wrong.

I got the impression he saw us as a way of creating a 'Sporting Wakefield' group, in a similar way to Leeds and how the rhinos and tykes work. May be wrong though.

i doubt the administrators will talk parkin around the only people that will do that is the rfl guarenteeing you a franchise and that aint going to happen nor should it,this was always the case the only reason i can work out why it was all on until yesterday was he was hoping for a last minute change of heart from the rfl.

what would worry me most if i was a fan would be why has the andrew glover bid been completley overlooked has it was the only genuine bid that was prepared to go through with it.

I agree, Wakefield Trinity need a shrewd businessman who has the ability to get us running efficiently, marketed well, operating at optimum level. It doesn't matter if he has ten billion pounds or ten pounds if he can get all those. His skill needs to be able to attract extra money in to the club, through attendances, through expenditure at the club shop, through season tickets, through sponsorship, through corporate hospitality, etc.. We should not be putting all our hope into someone we do not know about, just because he has a shed load of cash - if they have to keep putting money into the club all the time WITHOUT addressing the other issues I have written above, then we are not much further down the line.

If he disappears after setting up the viable business operation, then we are a good prospect for continuing. If he disappears without setting up the viable business operation and removes the cash input, then we are in the same situation we are in now (but with less hatred towards him!)

The key thing is to get Trinity running efficiently and profitably, not to get a sugar daddy.

I dont think ANY bid will be ignored by those who are involved with the administrators/solicitors/RFL. Most fans in our position would get excited about the prospect of a moneybags man coming in, and would not be as excited about a 'less rich' moneybags man coming in. Hence the conversation has been about the one, rather than the other. I think all fans would be happy with anyone who wants to come in and make change happen.

As for your tips, what odds have you got for Cas -8, that sounds very promising!

So rather than buy them out of admin,why not just let the limited company liquidate and then form a new company.That wouldnt cost him anything.

And with a bit of luck the RFL would magnanimously allow us entry into the RLCN alongside Bramley Buffaloes. We could scrap it out with them for re entry into the Championship.

Did they not set a precedent when allowing Quins to do it?

Only because Richrad Lewis went out on a limb by threatening to resign if clubs didn't vote to allow them to continue in superleague. Can't see him doing the same for us can you?

Really not sure,extremely dangerous when a precedent has been set.

Also we wouldnt be trying to stay in super league after this season -we would be dropping down to next division.So i dont see what the RFL would have to lose.

Would it not be more embarrassing for the RFL should the company be liquidated mid season.

Be it this year or next you will be coming down into the doldrums which is Championship on a £300k salary cap, You would have to rebuild like everyone else and get ignored by the RFL for three years, Then when licensing is due you would not be the favourites, Barrow by this time would be or toulouse so they can expand into cumbria or further into france. Sod Halifax, Fev if they sort a stadium out, and Wakefield, You had your chance they would say.

In all honesty i hope sky drops the money they put into RL and this is more likely than not as there is no Setanta this time to bid for the rights, The RFL might then stop being puppets to the puppet masters and make some decisions to benefit the clubs being constantly ignored.
