The mind set is a big part of being successful and Makin's isn't on Wakefield And as you and Trojan say, we have to wait and see with Cozza. Right now I think he's good backup with potential to be good starter.

I’m not sure on what the Makin deal would achieve if there’s no option of signing the player. Especially if Shaw and Lingard are options. Your not going to throw Lingard in but for an odd game on the bench for a 20 minute spell i would rather that. If Makin comes he will have a job on getting ahead of our first 5 prop options so unless he’s fine as back up then I’m not fussed myself.

We certainly need a 13, as good as Pitts is he’s 35 and I’m unsure if Cozza is of the quality we need at this level, reminds me abit of Bain in that sense.

Makin is a good young prop who would be getting games in most SL teams. Hes not the biggest but has a very solid build high work rate and is technically very good in contact both sides of the ball. A slight point of difference is he also has ball playing ability which I think could see him drop in as a good option at 13 too. I may be wrong but I thought 2025 was last year of his contract. I think Chan and Eseh will be available for loan too as it looks like Wigan are making room for a signing to replace Isa.

At least Eseh has history with the club and it would be nice to see how he has progressed. Ultimately though I don’t think any of these would get in if our main 4 props are fit. With Makin been a potential for 13 perhaps that has brought some interest from trinity. The clubs recruitment has been very good so I’m sure they’ll pick the right player.

I think upthetrin is talking about the deadline for signing and registering new players during a season, I believe it is sometime in August.

One thing that has changed in regards potential Salford acquisitions is the fact now Leeds will have cap space to make approaches for players too after the Sivo injury. Given he hasn’t played in a competitive game I believe the full value of his salary will be removed from their cap.

It appears Salford are insistent on holding out to the last minute to get investment. I thought that a condition of the advance was that their finances were looked into and they were told to reduce costs by 800k. They appear to have other ideas. Dangerous game to play. I’ve little sympathy for them and I’m guessing some clubs are probably losing patience.
