Usually the best place for them, especially for business trips. It means you can be on your way without town centre delays

Stupid argument, there are so many examples throughout the country its ridiculous! Ceder Court in Wakey, Tankersley Manor near sheffield etc etc. Thats two within 4 junctions of the M1 for you!

LCC's argument is weak and they know it. All this so Keith Wakefield can say to his constituents, well I tried, please vote for me, ignoring that fact that he has just spent a fortune in public money at a time when 600 people are about to receive redundency notices. A shallow, self-centred man who should be held accountable for his actions.

If we can all see the obvious motivation behind LCC objections and people I have spoken to with no Trinity or even RL connections can,surely the inspector can.

Another positive day at the town hall for the PI. All the LCC questions answered promptly and professionally and unless they've got something up their sleeve their objection doesn't seem to stand up to much. Let's see what tomorrow brings but all seems well at the moment

Sorry to be a bit abrupt/naive about this,but as this is the single most important thing in the clubs history it  naturally interests me greatly. However as I like many others, don't have any experience in this field, can anybody in the know answer me the following:

What was the original reason for the Newmarket development being called to a public inquiry? Am I correct in thinking this was due to objection by Leeds City Council, the Highways Agency and Natural England?

Is it now the case that LCC stand alone as the only statutory objection and that the other two have been satisfied?

Is it still possible that the objections of Barton Willmore on behalf of X could also put a stop to it?

Do LCC have any one reason for objection or can they just state as many things as possible hoping that a tally of negatives outweigh the positives? I suppose what I'm trying to ask is if one specific thing is met will their claims be void?

Which leads me into as was offered today, the LDF decision is to now be received in February. If the land at newmarket is reassigned B8, will this immediately and before a report is submitted to the secretary of state knock out all remaining arguments by LCC, BW and anyone else? At that stage will their be any remaining reason why the Secretary of State can say no?

If anybody can and does answer this I appreciate your time.

looks like lcc are being made to look stupid, they reckon 3000 jobs and are questioning travel which has already been covered.

Anyone know who the irritating mosschops is who keeps twittering about the PI?

He lives in Methley & I said I was happy to RT his opposing views, it is good and fair to understand and see someone else's opinion and take on the PI. The problem is, unlike James, he is not telling you whom is saying what and when. The majority of the points he has made so far come from the LCC's barrister mouth, but he doesn't say that... so he starts being more factual or we will not RT!

Are LCC getting their backsides kicked, as appears to be the case?

Also, have Look North responded yet, given that they're reporting this morning that West Yorks has the highest unemployment rate in the country, and at least 3 people have replied to their tweets suggesting that in that case, they may want to report on why LCC are trying to block 200 jobs at NM, at a cost of c£250,000 to the LCC tax-payer?!

Which Conservative would you reccommend writing to about the development? Cameron he will probably see the letter after the decision lol. ? Any suggestions

It does seem they need to go back and synchronise their objection, and not contradict themselves within the hour.

The story of the morning would appear to be an argument over how many jobs are actually likely to be created at Newmarket. The figures produced by Wakefield say it is between 1468 & 1986! LCC barrister, having earlier used a figure of 3000 jobs to dispute total car parking number on the site and make the argument that parking was lacking, then disputes these numbers!!! He gets Wakefield to admit that the minimum number of jobs that would be created is 1468. I'll post that again, the minimum number of jobs is 1468!!! Andy Wallhead admits this is a minimum number but WMDC calculations show that they predict an actual number of 1986 jobs and that is the number they are stating is more realistic! Surprise, surprise, LCC disagree that this is a realistic figure!

So, the good news is Leeds only think they are blocking 1468 jobs... Keith Wakefield must be so proud!

Out of curiosity, what date is the PI over? What date would you expect to find out the result of said inquiry and finally should you get the green light to commence building, when do you anticipate to be able to start?
