I'd have to agree with Avenger whose response was to a poster suggesting that Lopini Paea was 'one big human for sure' which he isn't. He's smaller than Raleigh,Moore and Tautai but at 6 foot and 16 1/2 stone he's no light weight and has played at the highest level in the game for a number of years.

If the signing is true though he'll hopefully do a good job for us and is a good replacement for Raleigh. He was one of the props for Catalan with Simon that outmuscled WTW only a few weeks ago up against our 17 stone props in Moore and Tautai.

It'd be good also to get an impact off loading type prop as a like for like replacement for Tautai/Moore as I don't think Paea is that type of prop.

Before anyone says anything though it'll all come down to money and season ticket sales!

I've said earlier that if recruitment is reliant in ST sales then I'm worried.
Sadly, it has to be the other way round, the public and particularly the fickle and uninterested Wakefield public will look to see what quality we are signing before committing to a ST.
Some of it comes from many years of disappointing signings and sometimes downright deception by previous administrations. (Laurie Daley to name but one!)

Not a signing that will improve their recent fortunes.
His age certainly fits in with their recruitment policy.
Disregard all the above if it's just a rumour and he ends up at Trin!!!

Moi Moi is the sort of player FC can get away with, when you consider Steve Bruce is blowing money like it's going out of fashion for City.
Paea would be the sort of player that is difficult to tackle as it's like tackling a beach ball, nothing to grab onto.

MC tweeted that their might be 2015 squad news tomorrow.

Dont think Catalan have revealed this weeks squad yet. If Lopini was missing from the 19 would give us an indication that he's signed as they have said not using players that are not playing for them next season.

If the last poster is correct then I´m sure I´ve read that Paea, Antoni Maria and Mikael Simon are not in the 19 for their next match. Maybe we have signed up all three....



All three can play prop and are big hard running front rowers as we witnessed when we played them a few weeks ago.

Both Paea & Maria are in the Catalan squad this week.

Handy player, one who tends to play above his size. Better option than Moi Moi would have been.

Good news and sensible length of contract. Should persuade some to buy ST including me now!

Goes against what they said about pryce If paea or Maria plays this weekend. Would think it would more of a fall out If playing some players not in plans for next year and not playing one of their main play makers.

Anderson, Scruton, Paea, Simon, Smith as front rowers is a pretty powerful force.
Kirmond, Ashurst, Ali, Ryan, Walshaw, Molloy (?) and Washbrook in back row, with Smith and Paea possible backrowers too......and Annakin to add if needed.

The 3 underlined are not yet signed up for next year (although i expect an announcement on Ali soon) and i believe there is no recall clause for Annakin and Trout, they will be at Featherstone all season. Crowther will be around but he looks a little way off regular 1st team rugby yet.

Trinity seemed to have a tougher pack when Lopini Paea was playing earlier this season alongside Anderson. Any update on his recovery from injury? Was it a knee injury?
