Kear is not in a position to help his old buddy out at the moment. He has a number of key positions to improve before he can help cookie out again!!!

Don't think six is his strongest position and thirteen is his best shirt. Unless Westy was moving to stand-off then I can't see it.

The Kear should try him out at 13 and judge him on that. If this story is true, then he's being recommended on the basis of what he's offered so far. At that price, you can invest better in the team, IMO. I'd sooner see 2 young hopefulls on a 30K/year contract each. I can't see how we'd be any worse off.

I was told different, that Kear was disappointed with how Cooke had gone. Rather than call for him to be banned from having a say in signings, on the basis of rumours, I think it's best to leave this one to come out in the wash.

If Kear isn't making the signings then who will? I imagine that none of us would like to trust Ted to make the signings.

It is part of Kear's job to make signings so i suggest that until we hear anything different we let Kear get on with his job because i am sure he is trying to do his best for the club.

Why not you have been happy to watch the others do it this season, like many others have.

Far from it. Whilst I can understand how it will affect the team when you loose three key players, why he has let cooke slow/break things down when obst (7), Jefferries (6) TLL and Rinaldi (9) then try cooke at loose forward.

I've been crying out for him to played at 13 since he joined!

Back to original topic though, I think Rinaldi has looked good for us and wouldn't be at all disappointed if he signed for next season.

I'd keep Cooke if the dollar was right. It will all depend how much he can get elsewhere I suppose, will he take higher cash from someone like Barrow or want to stay in SL on a lower wage? He strikes me as the type who would follow the cash, but then wouldn't most of us?

That my friend is correct just about. The exact words from Kear was 'completely underwhelmed' by Cooke.

Question for us all - can Kear get the best out of Cooke playing at loose with a full pre-season?

I doubt whether anyone can get the best out of Cooke. The lads finished, he's lost his passion and desire for the game. He's no loose forward, or not what i expect from a LF. He doesn't have the work ethic, he can't tackle to well and i can't see him running the ball in.

For me, this should be his last season, he's too slow for the halves but too much of a luxury at LF.

I'd like us to sign Jon Clarke from Warrington (think he's OOC). A Hooker/Loose Forward, coupled with a Scrum Halve and we'd be able to blood Davey ever so often if he has a good off season

Have to agree, when the sell by dates past, bin it for me.
