I know he’s signed some sort of deal, what I can’t be sure of is whether he will actually arrive. As we all know they are not the same thing. All contracts have get outs etc etc.

I remember Tony Smith proudly telling us all he had the signature of a young player called Joe Westerman. We did indeed sign him for about a week then he bailed as he was entitled to do, it was in his contract.

I reckon the club are playing it vague just in case things happen. Like me I suspect they won’t believe it until he’s actually here.

No we are talking about a player that could be transferred to us with a ban that won't be able to play due to having to isolate because of government rulings coming from abroad, not one who is already signed with a club then getting a ban and then catching covid but you may of found a get out silly as sounds

I'm all for A F making the move to Trinity and if it happens the club should be congratulated.
Will he have enough to raise the squads performances.
If it falls through should we look at another prop or a playmaker.

Im sure with what we will be paying him we could afford a hooker and prop

So let's split the money in half and get a mediocre prop (like the one who's just gone) and a mediocre hooker. The exact same kind of players you've been having a go at Chester for signing.

This is Trinity fan mentality all over. We get the chance to get one of the best then all of a sudden the shouty ones get cold feet and they're not worth the money. You want top players then you pay top money, there is no way around that, and by doing that you have to accept a hit somewhere else.

Even Leeds can't afford top players in every position. What you hope with a player like AF is that one, he plays to his potential and two he will lift those around him and help make the team better as a whole.

That's how I see it Vasty I would expect. Him to raise the bar and drag a few with him.

First of all where have i contridicted myself i have merley said should the AF deal go through which is a possibility the money put to one side which will not be peanuts may enable us to buy the 2 players needed.ie prop and hooker....i never mention calibre of player but as example brandon moore is in my view a better hooker than our current hookers would he be expensive i dont know but i can only guess he wouldnt be too much..

As for me been contridictng think the biggest culpript on here is ypu vasty after all at the start of the season you was more than happy with the squad and said we would go well.

I'm still happy with the squad on paper, I don't see how we could have done much more, it's how they are performing. You seem to think we can just get rid of players at will and replace them just like that, you can't. We can all make better signings with the gift of hindsight.

Fifita is the sort of player who will not only bring a big persona within the camp but he will also attract interest from other players for future years that might have previously dismissed Wakefield.

With a club on such limited resources as us, its such a gamble, as we do need more than just an extra prop. The performances, are proving that.

Imagine, with his recent track record, his ACL or something goes early into his contract. The quota spot will have gone, and a large part of our budget.

I think, given his salary, what some suggest, we could get 2 decent players for a similar figure.

I think in 2016, when Hull KR went down, Kelly, Campese and Blair where said, collectively be on about 30% of the clubs salary cap. That’s a lot for 3 players, when they had a full squad to cater for.

A lot, considering due to injury, were rarely on the pitch together.

If he does turn up at the club fit and raring to go ,and puts anywhere near his top performances on he will be a revelation in our team .He’s played in a comp that compared to our is like chalk and cheese ,with skill levels off the chart .To be the best prop in that comp albeit a while ago he is no doubt a very special player.I just don’t want the club to be holding its breath waiting as there is an awful lot of politics to be sorted out at his club first and time is ticking for us .If he comes great but we collectively as a team and supporters need to dig us out of this ,with or without Andrew .
Or What about chipping both fifitas in for their cousin David who just scored a first half hat trick for the Titans ,what a monster at 21 , and almost unstoppable even in their comp .
