One who could be of more interest to us is the winger Gideon Boafo, 24/25 years old, came through the youth ranks at London before switching to Newcastle, scored 11tries in 18 games this season.
He is very raw with plenty of flaws in his game, but is extremely quick and may just be the sort of player that Darryl Powell has the knack of improving massively. Risky though

I mentioned him last season but as you say he is very raw and would need to improve areas of his game. You can’t coach speed however. Maybe an outside punt for squad competition.

Jordan Schofield signed for Keighley. Thought after his debut he’d be nailed on for a place in next years squad.

A season in the Championship might be what Atoni needs, whether he'd then be worth the quota spot should we return to the top flight is another thing all together.

I walked passed Atoni couple of weeks ago In trinity walk. The lads an absolute unit. He started to show his promise in the second half of the season, with some really good performances. I’d happily keep him for the championship.

I’m not surprised he wants to stay, most clubs have already got full overseas quotas. Maybe if he’d have bent his back a bit more during the first two thirds of the season he’d have had more options.

I hope Atoni stays . He needed time but stepped up towards the end and should continue to get better.

Exactly, let’s not forget Whitbread was poor and largely anonymous last season for the first half. Atoni moved his family over and probably took some time to adjust and needed a spark like Dave Fifita to make him realise he can actually do some damage down the middle.

He is a unit and if he puts in performances like that second half of season then he will be amongst the best props in the championship. He’s about to hit a props prime years too.

If we can tie down Tanginoa then with Griffin too we will have some punch in the forwards. Be nice to find a quality loose from somewhere.

I get the time to settle in though. That's a very real issue for overseas players.
And I think the halfbacks improved so he had some direction to his running.

I would be happy if we kept Antoni, 2nd half of the season he was pretty good and I think in the championship he could be destructive. His tackling stats were also very good even earlier in the season when he was not really effective with the ball.
