The problem is most people these days get their news from quotes on social media or headlines on websites, and probably don't even bother clicking/reading the article properly. Anybody that knows what's been going on can see through this latest nonsense in the media, but to Joe public they will digest whatever narrative is fed to them if it's written down somewhere that's deemed 'credible'. It does seem weird how they have upped the anti in the media and got 88m on the bandwagon too. I hope that the next hand we play is a blinder, in MC we trust.

Stand firm, some posters are too quick to waive the white flag. If the opposition had such a strong position they would not be resorting to poorly thought out media onslaught , they would just get on with it and do what they want to do.

Got to agree with what PB has said. The council statement goes on about can’t expect a stadium for nothing and to keep all revenues but it was they who negotiated the s106 for cas ground which low and behold will see a private entity get just that

Mick Amos makes a good point on twitter. 17 council officials 'earn' £1.5m of rate payers money between them per year. Value for money?! That's the angle supporters need to go down on social media.

I'm not as confident as you on this as i don't think our hand is as strong as you do but i hope beyond hope to be wrong. We have that 106 card to play but as time ticks on that card has gone from an ace to a king and will soon be the queen at best. There's a few moves to play either way yet and MC needs to play the game of his life to pull it off. It can be done but the fella is up against it. We have to trust in MC & CB as we have no choice, they have to get a result as the alternative doesn't bare thinking about.

Having read the editorial by long-time Trinity supporter and League Express editor Martyn Sadler, I can only think that he is either one (or all of) the following: toeing the establishment line and placing his empathies with Box, Jeffreys and 88M; Just plain gullible or totally ignorant of the previous history surrounding the whole Newmarket/Belle Vue saga.
Come on, Martyn, a bit more research before you publish articles please.

He still makes a point every now and then of stating his affinity with Trinity. I suppose he can't appear to be too partisan to a particular club when he edits a generic RL paper, Wildthing. He certainly seems to have swallowed the WMDC/88M point of view though.

Whilst this might not have any real legs... the purpose is to divert attention and funds away from the real issue.. taking the council to court for their failure to meet the conditions of the Section 106 and the SOS ruling...

The longer the assailants keep the danger people (MC and CB) tied up and unfocused the less chance they have of inflicting damage to Box and the council. This really is a war and will soon need mobilisation of troops!

If he has lied and printed adverse and biased material negative to Trinity, we should all buy League Weekly. It's a small paper and he would not welcome loss in circulation.

Not seen it myself but it sounds like the report in league weekly was of a similar ilk to the one in league express.

League weekly just include quote from Denise Jeffrey and say MC will be speaking with lawyers before making a statement. Sadler makes ill informed comment despite enough evidence to the contrary been out there if he could have been bothered to look. If he has an affinity for Wakey he keeps it well hidden

Sadly that magazine is awful... I buy it but it take 2 mins to read and I nothing new out of it ... the editorial is Narcissistic and bias.. and it's news is nothing better than made up!

We have to convince Sadler that he is wrong ... we have to get the popular press on the case and any government body who will listen...

Agreed. It’s like when you watch a police tv programme and the person they are interviewing continually says ‘no comment’. You immediately tend to think they’re guilty, whether they are or not. Adverse inference i think it’s called. It never looks good to the outside world whether it is the sensible move or not.

Not really in this case. It’s an editorial piece rather than a investigative one so he can only comment on what is in the public domain and then add an opinion to that. In this case all the talk so far has been from one side with no reply. The key is what, if anything, comes from him when the club makes a statement.

My point is Sadler wants to sell news papers. If he spent time researching he might get a better story and sell more but it takes effort and he has easier stories. He can't take forum facts. He risks being sued.

We on the other hand have an interest in getting the truth out there. We can use him to do it. It wouldn't be hard for us to give him some headlines.

Expecting him to do the work is like expecting your boss to give you a pay rise because you do a good job. Even though you are right it's not in his interest unless you go tell him why.

Because he looks a fool printing opinions that are clearly at odds with what is in the public domain if he chose to keep abreast of developments.

Given his alleged allegiance to Trinity you would think the above would count even more so.

On the subject of the op?
I have worked on many commercial leases, and I can't for the life of me understand how 88M can impose a £400k dilapidation clause unless all the terms and conditions from the original lease that he took over when purchasing the land from BOI stated that the ground would have to be brought up to a certain standard other than the state and purpose it was in at the time of purchase. As a tennant with a "maintenece clause" already in place, if WT had not being keeping the ground up to standards then they'd would be in breech of contract and been given notice to leave, doesn't appear to be the case so can't see this figure being anything like £400k in real terms, the only thing that the club couldn't be charged for would be the Benidorm flats at they are not "original fixtures and fittings" all the other stands have had a certain amount of "improvements" from original state in the last 130 years
