Obviously it's not ideal but neither is it time for having a moan. All new squad, playing in Catalans where you need to knock them out for a draw, after a hard weeks training of double sessions, using 23 players so the team not getting fluidity and blow out was always on the cards. This team won't really start to click until mid season where we will start to deliver on what will be a promising season

aint that bad, could turn out to be a good thing, they know they got a lot of improving to do before start of season

if they had won i wouldn't have wanted them turning up a Widnes thinking they're world beaters

Not good at all but results in friendlies are pretty much meaningless which is why I never bother with them. That said with a result like that it will be difficult to take many positives and there is going to be a lot to work on over the next 3 weeks.

The only positive is that the players have had game time together. Friendlies are oppertunities for coaches to establish the strengths of players and how game patterns are working. Other than that the end result is totally meaningless.
I wish I had a quid for every time I've seen good pre-season wins in friendlies to be followed by rubbish later. Much rather it be the other way round. Even a defeat against that lot from over the common next week won't be the end of the world but I would expect to be a little more competitive than we appear to have been today!

Catalans are big, 'orrible monsieurs and without Wilkes and Southern, we were always going to be up against it.

Not nice to see a big towelling, but as many have said, it doesn't mean a great deal; just hope we don't suffer the same against Cas - we'll never hear the end of it.

I went to watch cas Friday they looked very sharp under millward better then last year don't think we will get any were near them at the moment would swap coaches any day off the week . if lose wont matter part from bragging rites would be worried if widnes put a big score against us Dow

We are a work in progress and will be for a while yet, there is a much bigger picture to look at here than the results of literally team building friendlies!

To be honest I would too, although Millward has the benefit of a relatively settled squad at Cas and would probably struggle with all the new faces at Trinity also.
