| Quote ="RebelRebel"According to posts on other threads, the 350K is a tax bill due to HMRC by the end of the month. The reasons why we have this huge tax bill are also explained there (sorry, I can't remember exactly where now - try the "Wildcats Share Scheme" or "New Invester [sic" threads). The truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth is (and will probably remain) elusive.'"
RR - Like you say, the truth remains elusive. If it is a tax bill with an absolute deadline where is the winding up petition from HMRC? They've been happy to do it in the past so why not now?
I know that the club bank with Bank of Scotland & I also know that BoS have been very tough with their business customers over the last few years. The bank are also in a much easier position to force the club into Administration through the Debenture that will be in place to secure any funding.

Because the previous WIP's have resulted in threads being started on here soon after the petition has been lodged with the High Court.
I accept that it may be that HMRC have indicated they want the money by 31 Jan otherwise they'll start proceedings, but even if that's the case there's going to be a couple of weeks beyond that we'll have to work something out before we end up in court.
The bank deadline is far more likely to be fixed. Although they stood by the club through the CVA & the previous winding up petitions, there's only so much rope they'll give us to hang ourselves with.

dont think its put up time, yet.
and dont think many are giving up, its just there needs to be more detailed so an informed decision can be made, basically so far from the club officially we have had give us a grand, and now quite naturally we are asking what its for.

Really? Seems to me that people want some answers and some assurances rather than blindly handing over a grand. What of those who cannot afford the grand is that the price we are now putting on our love for the club? TOGETHER WE ARE STRONGER (unless you haven't got any money)

This article on the YP website seems to make things a little bit clearer re HMRC:
www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/wakefiel ... 6682780.jp
"it is understood an arrangement made with HM Customs and Excise to pay further unpaid tax bills over a set period has been torn up after it saw the Crusaders enter administration last month"
So, not only do Crusaders get preferential treatment & financial support from the RFL, but they also f*$k up the agreement that the club had come to with HMRC and had every intention of honouring.

Of course they do and that's what I and others have been banging on about.
I'll put in a grand but only if its going to change things for the better and secure the future. If its only patching the hole and there are more bills to come next month and so on then no chance.
People need to know the whole picture before parting with their hard earned cash.

| I was just thinking, what's happening with the squad builder money? We usually hear news that a young lad has been signed to the first team using the money.
Has the squad builder cash been used to help pay off any debts etc?

Actually it is more likely that HMRC took offence to the CLUBS voting to scrap the Insolvency rule. Do not blame the RFL the CLUBS voted on it and they can vote as they like. And they voted to get more sky money and feed you to the wolfs.

No , we have just helped bring in a couple of youngters but what with everything else happening we have not done the press release as it would probably not feature in the one page we get in the Express ! We did a press thing re the Stanley Rangers meeting for this week and correct me if I am wrong having looked through the paper twice I have yet to find it.

To be honest I love the championship, it is a real competition, which most clubs have a chance of winning, in most cases run on sound financial principles. My club has gone from strength to strength in the last few years.
And if you did come down that would create a big derby that would enhance the league further. Unless you have a big financial backer of crowds of 12,000 plus you will always be feeding off the scraps in super league, where as you have every potential to be fighting for honours year in year out.
I started watching Rovers in 1984 and have seen rovers in the top flight, and I loved it and Missed the buzz of a full post office rd for a while. But I can honestly say that these last few years I have got the buzz back and would be more than happy staying in the championship competing at a level that suits.
