Maybe they are associates of each other.
First and foremost, they are part of MKM Building, a building supplies company, who have a kitchen department. Maybe that side is oursourced to DIY Kitchens.
Regardless, they are a huge company, with over £800m turnover on the last set of accounts, and this can only be good thing for us.
If that is the case, well done in getting this one over the line.

| I'm not sure anything is over the line is it? They just implied they have something linked to rugby.
And they already sponsor Hull's stadium.

| For what its worthDavid Kilburn (MKM'S founder) is on the newly formed Hull KR board of directors. Yes, they sponsor Hulls ground (football interests more than anything) but the fact he saw more potential investing in us than Hull is amusing for obvious reasons.

| It is absolutely disgraceful and totally out of order the vitriol and hostility aimed towards the present Trinity board. Yes mistakes have been made , but can be counterbalanced by obvious positives.

You can view it with the squad and on the pitch over the last three seasons. It is success that brings increased crowds and more importantly retaining our SL status.
What do you think of of the way the squad has progressed under the current incumbents objectively.

Reminds me of the Monty Python Four Yorkshiremen sketch ` There were 150 of us living in a shoe box in the middle of the road. Cardboard box etc etc .`
2 Million pound debt ; looking at the accounts to November 2022 we should be so lucky. God knows what the accounts to November 2023 will show.

| Indeed. I really don't understand the view.
By all means criticise the on field performance but I don't think Carter or Minards has missed a tackle yet.
Yes they recruited the team and coach but 1) they did it under the financial limitations of the club and 2) they weren't to know how injuries and performance was going to affect the season.
But even with the on field stuff, they are doing a job, no-one else wants to do, for no financial gain.....and then being stalked by people who just like to take pot shots. Some on FB don't even go to the games (not Mopsey).
I'm happy with both their efforts.
We are in the absolute best position as a club that we've been in in my life time.
If it means we have to have a season in championship to sustain our future, then so be it.

Wakefield is the proof that a more successful team does not increase crowds significantly. Lots of things impact that.
Retaining our super league status is no longer about just success on the field.

Not totally true PT.
In 2018, our last season we finished in the play offs, we averaged 5244, and in 2022, we averaged 4613, a decrease of 631.
With that decrease, if those were adult season ticket holders, you would be looking at around £150k of lost revenue, in comparison to 2018.

That’s after limited flirting with playoffs. If Trinity were to get a couple of sustained years of playoff rugby crowds would rise above 6k and then some imho. The potential is there but not the investment. It would take 3-5 years to full transform the club.
This is exactly why I firmly believe after a few poor struggling years we are down to our core support. It won’t go any lower and if we end up in championship and invest enough to have a strong winning team then the fans will start to return. It wouldn’t surprise me to see higher attendances in the championship if we are winning that this year in SL.
I would only be worried if we drop down but don’t invest to come back up. The plan would have to be stay full or mostly full time to win games, challenge for finals and bring back the fans.

Mitigation factors for the current decrease in season ticket holders. The 2 years of Covid lockdowns, the number of deaths due to Covid, and the age demographic of our season ticket holder, one of which I’m getting near the end myself. These are factors beyond the club’s control, and with poor on field results in recent years has indeed lead to a decline in attendance. Hopefully, new management = new ideas, at the moment that’s the best we can hope for.

I think that proves my point.
The attendance went up of course but ticket price impacts that too....and I'd suggest the investment to get the team of 22 to the playoffs is a lot more than £150k.....so not a good investment.

I prefer to look at it as complete lack of investment for at least 5 years, a development falling short of what it was suppose to be, no hospitality and a bodged up north stand, not paid for by this lot by the way, the weakest squad put together in our super league history which puts us on the brink of relegation. Around 5 to 6 million quid of debt which needs to be serviced. A grovelling plea to fans for money for shares, which we raised 350 grand from fans but 300 of it from carter's dad, was this to prop the club up. 200 grand from Ellis, to try and get us out of the mire. Oh your going to say we've got assets but we can't sell the assets if we can't pay the bills. The assets are pretty worthless realy. Can't wait to clap them out they've done their best but failed. You can still organise an open top bus parade if you like

Only Salford had a smaller loss than us.
Losses mean no tax bill and are not terrible if you have the cash to cover it. Depends why you have losses.
Debt that is far outstretched by the asset, and the asset generates money to service the debt
In previous years we had losses with no money to cover it so had to sell players
Previously we had loans with no assets
Previously we were on the brink of admin for long periods.
And previously we would not have even got a C grade with IMG.

| I reckon if we balanced the "good things (pitch, stand etc)" that this BoD has done for us against the "Bad things (relegation)", I think the scales would tip in favour of the former. We can all look forward to possible future promotion, but I doubt whether we would have been able to afford the new infrastructure that we've acquired

TBH, Salford only posted a smaller loss because they don't pay £600,000 of their rent - they default and the council has to pay it for them.
If they paid their rent, there would be a further £600K in losses - well actually they would be bankrupt, but there you go!
