Telling people it's the most important meeting ever and then asking to spend money on membership/lottery.

A build up to whip up the crowd consisting of people you respect similar to how make a million semenars are structured.

Multiple sittings because of the hype. No solutions/resolutions/answers only another possibility and a drawing of what might be.

People expect results at a big presentation meeting not ideas and plans. It's less impressive than the Newmarket/thornes build up which were delivered with less hype.

For once I agree with you, I think from Trinity's point of view and most other people, once you're out of SL it will be very very hard to get back in and maybe that why this decision has been taken

thinking about this announcement, AG wouldnt bother with this if you werent going to get the liscence... is it possible that he has had a little word from RFL that we will get a liscence. otherwise he is wasting his money dewveloping a championship ground, which isnt a good business move for anyone ... just a thought

Although it wasn't the massive announcement we were all hoping for it is still big and it shows that we really do mean business and we are going to fight all the way.

I am more confident of us achieving a longer stay in Super League than I was before the meeting.

All very good but this is not a media battle but a board room battle with other clubs and the RFL to get a slice of the sky money and the SL status or be swept out of the main stream rugby consciousness for good as the introduction of SL and lack of Pand R has done for many a good club.

I cant take this news serious at all.

Why would anyone fund the redevelopment of a ground they dont own and potentially will be moving out of in 2/3 years.
Even if there is someone daft enough to fund it,cant see it been ready for start of 2012 season and cant see the RFL been gullible enough to believe it.

Yeah but we find out whether we are in sl in july so we wont have started renovating the ground before then...

Perhaps because for once we are playing Cas at the PR game and left the announcement till now to not give others a chance to react in time.
It's not the announcement I was hoping for but it could yet prove to be extremely important to our future.

The worrying thing for me is that we may have oversold the meeting and annoyed the very people that we are hoping will join the membership schemes.

Yes I agree to certain extent but probably in their mind, it is the most important news, considering if we get the boot this time, I can't see us returning. They should have known though, people would be dreaming up all kinds of OTT scenarios that were never going to happen.

So the warning sign were there throughout. Pens on the table (which i clocked straight away) then a common theme throughout the presentations that were focused on YOU the fans contributing towards us getting a licence and YOU making the bigwigs at Red Hall stand up and listen.

I seriously think they got the two main agenda points the wrong way round. First i would have bouyed peoples emotions with the news that Belle Vue was being developed to help is with our tick in the box for the ground issue, then i would have hit them with a "by the way we also need more members signing up otherwise the ground improvements are negated by the fact we don't have 5000 members".

Deflated on the way out, angry on the drive back, disappointed now.

Oh and yes i did sign up!

Glover's job is to develop the club and keep us in Super League. The announcement and other promises made have taken us closer. If all he is guilty of is overselling the meeting, I'll forgive him that.

Those new stands look far from the modern type !! restricted views are us !

Hows this for a scenario, JE and AG release info about the meeting but its all bull, this keeps people talking about the club, it also keeps them off the sense about the truth of operation "we want your cash again" they book cedar knowing full well they will not all get in and ching ching bang that heating up and we will have 50% of your bar takings thanks very much. A joke of a night if only they where honest about wanting the cash.

I think the main thing to come out of tonight is how important they see the membership or the RFL see it, because be sure all this was orchestrated to boost membership and lets face it no other club seems to be quite so desperate to do this! If your given the green light to Super league their is no way you will build anything till the outcome of the public enquiry, so the main new tonight was that you are desperate for people to join the membership scheme and I would also suggest that even there its a guise to take money from you, as lets face it any one fans membership will only be counted once towards the RFL membership critieria, I wonder how may people have signed up to more than one of the memberships in the last few months and even tonight!
