im pretty glad its the last game next week before the break,we have made the decision to move training indoors to knottingley sports centre between now and march although it comes at a cost to me and the parents but its got to be better then training in all weather`s and in mud,hopefully it will help our ball handling no end having good conditions to train in and we can have some fun with it too.

stanley been indoors for a few weeks now , its hard for some aspects but you can still do a lot of fitness training. rumours a foot the lads will get moved up but to what group is still open to debate , for me 1 group is suffice

we are still training out doors with no complaints from the kids that its cold,
its been hard to see the ball at times and has been plenty plays that have had to be retaken because of it (dropped balls) but on sat two tries stuck and was down to the hard work the team has done in training

its a bit tough really i spoke with townville`s coach today and they are hoping to move up themselves,i know no team is keen to drop out of pool 1 has its been so competative with every team losing at least 3 games although fev lions and oulton raiders have only beat one another,lock lane too were hoping to move up though their form has dropped off a little in the last few weeks having spoken with their coach.maybe they need to go to 4 groups of ten instead of 5 groups of 8 id then make group 1.

i honestly believe its a good age group this time i see a lot of u10s games and i reckon that a lot of the teams in group 1 of the u9s could hold their own against u10s top teams.

onething that annoys me and a lot of other coaches is that they have taken away the county teams until u12s,i played for yorkshire has an u9 and to this day i still hold it has a top moment in my career and i was fortunate enough to get signed on,i beieve that their should be some recognition for our top players at any age group and even if its just regional training from the rfls coaching co-ordinaters its better than nothing.

May I congratulate you on having this thread.

I think it's great to see the forums being used to promote the game at grassroots level.

I never had the support by my parents at that age, and feel that the chance I did had wasn't backed up with encouragement to succeed

just got back from shaw cross sharks v stanley rangers under 11s game, it was a hard fought game in atrocious conditions bitter cold wind and lashing rain at times and they all credit to them plodded on with no complaints.
the game finished in tremendous style with my lad scoring in the dying seconds and then was converted for us to win by 12 -10, no side deserved to lose this one, now grateful of a rest period

we had our game called off has drighlington couldnt raise a team for the second time this year both times against us

still a nice break from playing for the kids now although once we get christmas out of the way it will be full steam ahead with training ready for march.

cas panthers u8s beat east leeds this morning 5-4 and yesterday cas panthers u10s finally won their first game of the year beating churwell 26-16 i monsoon like conditions.

there's two lads that do a lot of the driving forward, and adam had a peach of a game running in 50 and 60 yrd runs and deserved the man of the match from stanley rangers, he laid the ball to lewis and with his size took

4 players over hanging on to his shirt tails at short range, lewis was awarded man of the match from the sharks, will have to now watch him with the xmas pud
