Couldn't we have shown some ambition and got Dagger without swapping him for our best potential player?

It almost feels like we've been scammed.

We're not in the driving seat, we need a fullback KR don't need to help us, we enquire as to the availability. KR come back with a counter offer.

Dagger is available / dispensable at KR hence why he's coming here.

He's agreed to play for us by the sounds of it.

So surely there is a deal to be had? And by that I mean us paying a small fee to aquire Dagger? As opposed to us offering 1 of our best players

I'd have rather kept Hall and gone with Kay at fullback with Hood & Bowes as first choice hooking options. Jowitt will be back in 7 or 8 weeks anyway and Dagger will likely be relegated to back up. We've been done good and proper.

And we should say "no chance we're not doing that".

I’m not defending it but for me we stand more or a chance staying up with Dagger in the squad than we do Hall.

Or Dagger himself. The most games he's managed in a season in his career so far is 13 and it's not just due to not getting selected. He's picked up a good few injuries so far for a player his age.

Not many know this but Dagger is a trinity academy product.

It’s ok saying so and so has done well filling in there but the reality is they haven’t.

1 is a key position in the spine, in the modern game maybe the most important position on the pitch.

A couple have had a decent enough crack at it but look lost when it comes to the finer points of the game.

Yes they have caught and tackled…but a fullback is an extra pivot and we have massively suffered lacking someone capable of playing that role.

The whole thing is a mess but as I say I personally think we stand more of a chance however slim staying up with Dagger in the team than Hall at the current time.

I think if Dagger stays fit, then he’ll do a job for us.

I think conversations will have been had and a deal reached that suits all stakeholders.

I think Dagger’s wage will be getting paid partially at least by KR too.
