Struggling to think if anyone.
To some credit he did loan the club money to pay off an unpaid HMRC bill, we didn't seem to have any other takers at that point.

| Could a future investment in a Ladies football team be a possibility. Women`s football is possibly the fastest growing supporter based sport in the UK at the moment.

| Don't get caught up in the hysteria. If they had 1 fan last year and increased to 10, that's 1000% increase. If they still have 10 fans next year, that's consolidation....or stagnation!!
There's lies, damn lies and statistics.

| Quote ="Eastern Wildcat"I actually remember a conversation about it, with Mick Amos, at the time of it happening. I also know James and Lee personally.
I will be honest, I'm not the biggest football fan and haven't really followed them as much as I intended to, so haven't looked on companies house.
I was actually speaking with James a couple of days ago, and briefly mentioned this, and he said there's a lot of sense behind it, but other than asking me to send him the link about it, was very poker faced about it all.'"
Yeah neither am I, it was just when you reminded me of what happened with your post. I have a friend who knew a couple involved and memories came flooding back and remembering a bit more of it, like there were a few more people involved initially,I just wanted to know what actually happened with the idea in the end. Because I believe they started up in 2018 and did really well the following season and then Covid hit, so who knows where they'd be now.

I think you've hit the nail on the head, regarding covid.
They're currently in the lower half of the league, but with a couple of games in hand I believe. They did though have a good result on the road though yesterday, at a team near the top.
It would take quite a bit of success though, on and off the pitch to get into that fourth tier.
I think the structure is something like this
Premier
Championship
League 1
League 2
National League
NPL
NPL Division One (East)
I think that is right, but happy to be corrected if I'm wrong

In between the National League and NPL, there is National League North & South.

Ossett are in the NPL east. Wakefield AFC are in a league even further down the ladder than the ones listed. Wakefield AFC have at least another three or four promotions to go until their profile will start to reach a size close to befitting the size of the city imo. It's positive though that they already seem to have a half decent sized fan base to say where they are in the league pyramid. A bit of success over the next three or four years and a couple promotions and things should start taking off if they are marketed correctly.

| I think people are missing the point here.
The difference between Wakefield AFC and Ossett Town, is that one already has a ground within the boundaries of the area it represents. The other Wakefield AFC is currently nomadic and is playing in Featherstone and not Wakefield the City, as opposed to the MDC.
Although technically Wakefield AFC can call themselves Wakefield, they are not actually playing within the city boundaries. For their ambitions to work, they must imho move into Wakefield proper. Problem is that there is no land available and even if there were building a stadium would take years. I suppose they could move in with Sandal RU but really BV is the only sensible option IMHO.
