| What a signing he would be.
Even a 50% fit AF would be a bonus to the team at present.
Would lift Big Dave too.
The competition between them would be of benefit to us also.

Signings like this with great expectations we have a bad track record with but something tells me the fact that his brother is at the club it could work out very well for the club.'"
He was offered to all the SL clubs in the offseason, Leeds had a look but declined due the issue with his knee.
Desperate times call for desperate measures I guess.
If it’s for this year only it may well be the spark that is needed to lift the club temporarily. If it’s beyond this year I would be concerned.
He may well short term bring the best out of David which can only benefit Trinity.

| 2018 Dally M winner and people are turning there noses up at him, even though the sharks are reportedly paying most his wages so literally have nothing to lose. This guy 2/3 seasons ago was unplayable in the nrl and at international level and has clearly lost his way abit finding himself playing for the newtown jets (would probably beat us mind). A 70% fit fifita would still be head and shoulders above anything in Our team, 90% + there’s nobody in SL touching him at prop. How we are at the minute we have literally nothing to lose, there’s hardly any recent Aus/ state of origin/ Tongan stars throwing themselves to come play for wakey is there.

No doubt a fantastic player in his day but he’s been struggling for form and fitness and looks well overweight. Let’s hope he can do us a job

| We do need some more grunt up front in the prop department but let’s be under no illusions that, although this would undoubtedly be a coup for a club like ours, it would also be a highly risky signing given AF’s recent injury issues.
If the gamble pays off and AF is able stay fit then we would be getting someone who would be a destructive force and who would terrorise ESL defences. However, AF’s off the cuff play would just be one more potential source for pieces of individual brilliance which so far have culminated in a paucity of scores in this year’s games: second half against Leeds – 6 points (TJ solo effort); both halves against Wigan – 6 points (DF magic); both halves against Catalans – 6 points (TJ brilliance).
AF’s arrival is unlikely to be the panacea to our inherent scoring problems and to suddenly translate into us chalking up victories. Unfortunately, I can see AF’s signing being presented to paper over the cracks in our attack. The solo contributions which AF would bring are sadly no substitute for the collective and structured attacking play which we should be striving to achieve and need to achieve of we are going to avoid relegation. Potentially a very good signing but we should not lose focus of the bigger coaching issues.

What? Working alongside Elvis??? I'd rather see AF doing his battering on the field, but avoiding scraps.

found this on hickey deehell if it helps
Hickey broke through the Warriors defence with El Masri in support and ran almost fifty metres to score. He also ignored two opportunities to offload the ball, denying El Masri the chance to score a try in his final home game. Hickey later revealed that he was keen on avoiding the dreaded post-season nudie run for all those without a try for the year.

I don’t get this nobody would touch him. Wigan signed George Burgess surely knowing he had a major hip issue which he now needs a hip resurface, which that potentially being his career. That just doesn’t happen over night that’s a chronic injury. With any quality player now coming from the NRL surely there are risks as to why they are actually ending up over here, whether it being behaviour or physical state.

I don't remember him being 'offered' and I certain doubt very much that no one would touch him.

| If it’s true and he can lend a hand getting the team on the front foot allowing some breathing space for the backs , bring it on .Always a gamble but if it works out it’s a win win for the club because were certainly lacking some serious punch up front

| Let's be clear.
Our props are
Fifita D
Arona
Green
Tangata
Tanginoa (as cover)
Is there anyone that thinks Fifita A would be 5th choice?
If not he's an improvement.
In actual fact, he'll be first if he plays to even a fraction of his capability.

| He was clearly aiming to be first choice prop at Cronulla, losing weight, etc, but I'm guessing that the NRL clubs have gone for faster props this year due to the speeding up of the game. Even Papalii has lost weight (albeit he did it for a boxing match).
It might also rejuvenate David. We have to remember that Big Dave has been stuck here with no chance of going home for quite a while, staring at four walls, getting out just to play in empty stadiums. It might be the tonic they both need.

There's also Battye in the mix when fit but I agree, A Fifita would be first choice not 5th and likely to replace Tangata anyway if it allows the move to take place.

| I just don't get the negativity on here.
I see it this way - if he a crock and it proves a bad move, what have we lost? were not paying the majority of his wage by the sound of it and we'd be gaining by not paying Tangata.
If he is a hit then what a player to have, and I agree, it would probably give Dave a boost and kick him on!
I'd give it a go all day long!
