Ludicrous decision to play him freezing cold in Gateshead injury waiting to happen with the weight he's carrying and his previous injuries poor management by the club.
Played in 2 friendlies a guy who clearly isn't a fan of the cold why risk him. V silly.

When Pauli had a car accident and was in a wheelchair for a month or so at Newcastle he actually lost about 12kg - couldn't get to the fridge I heard.

The Facebook comments about Pauli shouldn’t have been risked at Newcastle are ludicrous. He needed game minutes and it could have happened in training, in an opposed session or anytime. Thankfully we are more then covered in his position.

Pauli has his off moments as others have commented, but on his day he is far above average, in fact he is devastating.
You obviously haven't seen enough of him to brand him as average.

He probably sustained his injury whilst turning to avoid the tackle / ruck area going by how he finished last season.

Coming back from a car crash that may of ended his career we risk him at Gateshead too weighty knee gets crocked. I agree he needed more time than most but he's a special case like Korkidas needs revving up I'm afraid. Nurture the cheese for a good season, weve had a Xmas binge with a v good destructible force and we have what we deserve. Kopjack on the other hand looks like he's made out of absolute granite and he could play 4 games a week with 60 minute stints.

What a load of guff. No player needed pre match games more than PP as he clearly neede to lose weight and gain fitness. This is especially the case with the new more limited interchanges.

Regardless of that all players play whenever the coach sees fit end of. No special cases and no wrapping up in cotton wool. Your idea about Koppy is ashtray laughable, seriously man make touch with reality.

Players of every type get injured that’s s fact of life - look at Kirmond hardly a fat lad is he. If PP has a suspect knee it’s going to blow anyway, better now than five minutes into the first real game.

I feel for PP and we have certainly lost an option but so do all teams. Luckily we have a big strong squad and we will cope.

Got to feel for Pauli, he went through the ringer with injuries etc in 2017 and was gradually returning to the devastating player he was during the course of last season. Hopefully, he can return with no problems and get back to bouncing players around like pinballs when he does. There's no doubt we'll cope without him but he does add that x-factor that offers don't. If things go to plan, he should be right for the warmer weather.

He did however play against Newcastle thunder who play their rugby on the other side of the city to Gateshead

Getting passed it with Pauli Pauli ,beginning to think he is costing the club to much to play . Never seems to be fit.Tlme to let him go playing 5 good matches a season is no good to a club on a tight budget .Think for the money he will be on we could get someone who is a lot fitter

He hardly missed a game last year through injury and he also played more than five good matches, no idea where you're coming from on this one.

Tbf his tackling technique is terrible, his fitness could be better
