| This certainly is a huge game, a real 4 pointer.
With Hull playing Wigan, this week will go a long way to determining where we finish.
Although it's cliched, there really are no easy games for us but, if we play with the intensity, desire and discipline as we did at Salford (apart from their first try, which was soft) and we will definitely be in the game.
Saints in reasonable form will be far tougher than Salford were but, it is definitely winnable.
This feels a bit like the season that Kear kept us in SL but, this time there's an even bigger prize up for grabs.
I literally cant wait.
Come on Trin !

I still havent got over him "laying unconscious" and then jumping to his feet to take a swing at on of the Trinity forwards last time Saints were at Belle Vue.
Many of the SL refs seem a bit scared to penalise Wilkin, perhaps they think he will call a strike or something.
Definitely one of the worst players for trying to influence the ref, a close second behind Gale.

A little bit surprised not to see Kyle Wood in there after Chester said he had a fully fit squad to pick from with the exception of TJ. Would of been good to have seen him spelling with Randell this week.

| MCB and Hasson to miss out again for me.
I guess longer term a good combination would for Wood to start then Randell come on mid-way as an "impact" hooker. Imagine the devastation we could do with those two creative hookers.

| St Helens will come and play, they're in the last chance saloon.
As good as the result and performance was last week it's clear Salford have had no heart for a fight through the super 8s. Saints definitely will be up for it.

| Great. They bring the kid Danny Richardson back for our game.
He was the difference last time. Need to control him this time.

| What we have to remember these days is a player not being named in the squad doesn't mean he won't play any part! BMM for Salford for an example...CC won that mind games battle for sure though!
As for Richardson...he's a great young talent who was brilliant against us last time...our pack never showed up though and he had one of those magical days where everything came off...there is heaps more pressure on Saints this time too as defeat spells the end of the road for them...I hope the fans get their wish and he plays ahead of Smith because at this stage it could be just a big game too soon as I don't see their pack dominating us like last time..

I'm not.
Gives Randell another game which tbd he earned. Gives Wood more rest. It's not like Woody is missing out on a final so no need for any upset on his part, should be fine.

I would of thought he would of played them both? Like most teams do. Rather than having to spell Hadley there again. On top of that I would of thought the last thing he needs is rest if he is now fully fit returning from injury.

| To be honest Randell looked pretty good over 80 mins last week, if he can reproduce or improve on that performance then no need to spell him!

Maybe, there will be some logic to it somewhere but as Woody and Randell are capable of 80 mins then maybe CC would prefer an extra forward on the bench. Seeing as Randell has just arrived it kind of makes sense to have another look. Whatever the case I don't think it's anything to do with Wood's importance to the team. Just how I see it.

| Leaving MCB out would mean that all 4 subs are forwards.
Would that be wise given the importance of the game.
Hopefully no pivots or backs pick up injuries, could end up with players out of position. Personally would be tempted to bring him back, with Arundel dropping to the bench to cover centre/back row.
No complaints with Thaler

We're on about Wood not MCB I think. Personally I would never have a back on the bench to me its border line criminal
For me it should be three forwards and a pivot player either a 9 or a 7 never a winger or a centre.
Might be old fashioned but it's what I believe

| I too would rather have a pivot as one of the bench spots. I agree with you there.
However, given the named squad, that would be unliklely to happen.
That is why i mentioned Arundel on the bench as he can play second row as well as centre, to give us a bit of versitility if needed. Tupou can also do that.

| Arundel starts in the centre for me. So does Tupou.
The choice is Lyne in centre or MCB on the wing.

| The other angle with Woody (if it's not mind games) is, h could be being kept fresh for Hull next week as I'd imagine they won't let Hadley play against them?
Randell played 70 odd minutes at Salford so is obviously a fit lad...if he does need spelling at any time Hadley can do a decent job there...if not Hadley is great from the bench to spell Kirmond to get the best out of him!
That keeps Woody wrapped in cotton wool and he would be a straight swap for Hadley at Hull...if our forwards can stand up to the might of the Hull pack imagine what damage a combination of Randell, Wood and Miller could do against big, tiring bodies!

| Having watched the Salford & Leeds games, courtesy of TrinityTV , I'm reasonably confident for this one.
I think defence will be the key, but the performance against Leeds proves we can do that. We gave them no time or room at all.
With the return of Miller and the addition of Randell, combined with all four strike props fully fit, I think we're an attacking threat to any team.
The only question mark is whether we can perform at the level we are capable of when the chips are down, not sure we've managed to do that this year?
