It is certainly a huge challenge. As Wrencat says, they are bang in form and we had a bit of a stinker v St Helens...but we have had some great games this year, so if we pull our A game out for the night it will be close. Gut feeling says they'll pip us but we are capable of winning so come on Trin! I thought Fifita looked short of match fitness v St Helens so maybe that game will have helped get that back. We have to get through our sets better even if they put us under pressure. I thought we got a bit desperate under pressure V Saints and started coughing easy ball up. Keep calm and use our pace. I suspect it will have to be a bit backs to the wall like some victories this year, with us making the most of our chances if we are to win

So Grix knows that Brough is an outstanding, unpredictable half back who can win a game singlehandedly.
Broughy knows that Grix is predictably hopeless when put under pressure taking a high ball.

Lets see how that pans out.

Well, there is far more to a game of rugby league, certainly for a full back, than taking a high ball now and again. I think that's what I was allluding to. But, we'll see.

The road from Dalton estate down past Kilner Bank to the ground was closed today for repairs so wether it is open on Friday I'm not sure .

Looking at Tom Grant's bio this could be his first superleague game. Hope he doesn't let Brought ref the game.

I hope we are a bit fresher for the week off. Against Saints Hasson looked short of match fitness and Fifita only seemed half fit as still coming back from injury

if these two are back to fitness we are looking strong enough to beat Hudds.

Are there any stats to back up the new received wisdom that Grix is rubbish under a high kick? He's probably fluffed a few - but more than any other FB?

Its not just that he drops them its that on some occasions he does not even get near them/attempt to catch them

All I have said is imo he has a weakness under the high kick and with Broughs kicking game and knowledge of Grix weaknesses it may be wise to sit him out of this game

His overall performances (again imo) have been patchy of late in any event

Just been in to the shop for our 4 tickets and was told we have sold just short of 400 tickets, which the girl said was pretty good.

No Fifita or Huby in the squad, that is 2 big misses both metaphorically and physically.

Must have injuries surely Chester wouldn't omit them otherwise

We have notoriously tight fans but, plenty will be "walk up's" so hopefully we can at least out "sing" the Shudds fans and help the boys to victory !

Right now, we have a genuine chance at a top 4 spot and IF we can get a couple of early wins in the super 8's, maybe, the apathetic Wakefield public may just come down and watch.

Just look for the stand with the most fans in.

Chadwick Lawrence stand .

Why? Because he was a fantastic organiser of the defensive line and was very much respected by all the players who trusted his judgement. As for Grixy under the high ball comments. If he bombed one in the first 10 minutes he would struggle the whole game as he is very much a confidence player. If he takes the first few bombs he's usually pretty safe the whole game. I'm pretty sure Broughy will bomb him to death the whole game though!

On Grix he's the best fb we have on our books and links really well, it's a nice change to have an outside back who can actually pass & it's no coincidence that our wingers have scored more tries this year than for the last 20 or so

On the high bombs - it's not just down to one man...we should be better organised to protect the catcher by shepherding attacking runners - watch any nrl side and even leeds or wigan who have succeeded in copying them well enough to dominate our game - we don't do it and pay the costs...we can't even defend short kick offs and i'm surprised more teams don't take them against us more regularly, they'd get the ball back 80% of the time
