The council could force Yorkcort to honor the 106 and instead of building a new ground at Newmarket Yorkcourt could agree to upgrade BV, but the owner of BV would still have to agree to sell. So we know that the council are not going to enforce the 106, even if they were forced to in court then Yorkcourt have already closed their compnay transferred assets into new holding companies etc etc in order to avoid having to spend one single penny on community facilities, So get real BV is dead, it is an ex Rugby ground, it has ceased, it is no more. I'll miss the old girl but the feeling will drift if I'm able to sit on a nice new seat or stand leaning on a crash barrier with no crumbling concrete.

Think most of us would prefer to stay at a "renovated" Belle Vue. But the reality is we can't. It's dropping to bits, unsafe and costing us. The uncertainty is the big factor that's upsetting most people. I've said it once and I'll say it again, you cannot take this out on Michael Carter, to do so is well below the belt.

Moving from BV doesn't bother me as such, moving out of Wakefield (permanently) does, and that would includes moving to Featherstone. Anybody who thinks the club will prosper in such circumstances are as deluded as those who think BV is fit for purpose.

Carter sounds he's between a rock and a hard place but I can safely say I'd rather watch Trinity in the championship at BV over watching Trinity in SL playing out of say Dewsbury.

Think you get the point its the reason we came on here.
We want to stay at belle vue.
Take Castleford ground as an example .. wooden stand ( our demolished by council) not enough seat, it floods,
by not denigrating the ground and emphasising positives its now called by sky iconic!
So if its not applied to them then we should say No. Not to us, we are staying.
An earlier poster said that cost to stay would be 30k to 100k then its still got to be worth it.

Perhaps MC could put a brief appraisal of the situation on the club website. Then at least all the remoaners will understand the situation and realise the full extent of the problem as far as staying at BV.

My game isn't spoiled by talking to people. I would guess I talk to hundreds at every game. Much nicer talking face to face. People tend not to carry a keyboard to hide behind when they are at the game.

You could add dodgy walls that fall down and floodlights catching fire, large sheets of glass missing from stand sides and concrete crash barriers that no way would stand the pressure tests that ours had to endure.
It is double standards being applied in respect of each ground but then again I don't expect anything different from this fiefdom of Box.

However having said all that, are you for real when you suggest BV could be made good for 30K to 100K. That's why I have just suggested MC should publish a brief appraisal and then you may realise the futility of your argument.

The reduction of 30-100k in central funding is because of the new minimum standards. Bringing BV up to scratch would be way more then that!
