| My gran took me in the late sixties sadly I can't remember the away side but she never missed a game at home and most away, but HKR in the early seventies was the first on my own, a bit of bother in the South stand that day too.

| Leigh at home early 70's is the first I recall, a home game a packed crowd with an easy Trinity win by 30 something. I was only 7 0r 8 and dad took me along. I remember Topliss having a cracking game and the big crowd was something to behold. After that I went periodically but remember a cup run of home matches very well and we went to every round, Saints, Hull KR and somebody else could've been Salford? not sure then we lost in the semi. Great memories of growing up in Wakefield.

| Neil Fox's 2nd testimonial match - some friends from school were asked by teacher Mr Robinson (known better now as having the first name Brian) and I went along as well. Football was always the sport of choice in my family but I was 15 and getting fed up of it because of the violence at games. Started watching RL around this time and as I was born in Wakefield I had to support them.

Ian Schubert, came to play for Leigh for a season in the mid 80's.

| Think it was 83/84 season, Geoff Wraith in charge at home to Keighley, Peter Roe was Keighley player coach.
Got beaten something like 16-37.
Then became a regular the season after under the 'guidance' of Len Casey!

| Quote ="wrencat1873"We popped our Trinity cherries together Vasty.
A 25 - 20 win for Trinity against the mighty Wigan, in front of over 8000 fans (the place was full though).
I was hooked instantly
One of the attractions in supporting a club like ours is, the team winning when everything is stacked against us and this hasn't changed in the last 30 years.
I still hope and pray for a Wembley trip to watch Trinity and just for a moment, at Leigh last season, it looked like it might actually happen.
'"
Wigan was actually the second home game that season. We played Warrington a couple of weeks earlier, and that was the first ever match that my dad took me to. It was Steve Ella's debut and we went on to win 14-10. We beat Wire, Leeds, Wigan, Hull and one other team who I can't remember in the first five games? 28 years later it's still a family affair, with my mum, my wife and my own two kids going to most games together.
If could pick I'd take Wembley over the Grand Final every day of the week.

| I can't remember my first game either but Trevor Skerrett was no 10, I reckon it was 1980.
The first game that I actually remember parts of the gameplay was against Wigin, it was the first game of a season where Wakey had been promoted from the 2nd division, a win was not anticipated.....but happens...lol....dunno what year that was.
How comes we don't have that "most memorable game" spin off thread going on ?
Thinking about it now, its quite telling that although there have been a few memorable games in recent years, all mine...the ones that stick in my mind, are from donkeys years back.
edit, oh wait....WTID

| First game attended was in 1956 but can't remember against whom. One of the early games I can recall was against Workington town when Trinity second row Les Chamberlain broke his leg. You could hear his bone snap around the ground. I still cringe today when I recall this incident. Another early memory was my uncle lifting me up to the level of the "dugouts" next to the old west stand for Tom Van Vollenhoven to sign my programme. He wasn't playing that day.

| Some game in 1970. We lived on St Catherine Street at the time and my mother worked at the Theatre Club. When there was a night game on, if my dad wanted to go he had to drag all three of us there. My two brothers would mess about but I ended up watching it and enjoying it. By the time we moved to Kettlethorpe when I was six, I was hooked.

| First game was home to York in the 1979/80 season aged 8. Went with my Dad (it was his first Trinity game too) and we sat in the East Stand. Watched Trevor Skerrett get thumped in a tackle by a York player right in front of us......as Skerrett got up from the tackle, a kid near us yelled out "it were number 12 Trevor!", Skerrett turned and gave him a big grin and thumbs up and went off looking for the player in question. I was hooked from that point onwards.
