regarding walton i work in eccles and theres 3 or 4 salford fans i know and the general opinion they give is that he should have been in there team every week but was sent out to london

However good Walton is am amazed we are signing another centre that can't get a regular superleague game. We probably have four players already in this category hall Lynne Tansey, around ale In our outside backs. Would have thought cover in half backs a bigger priority unless we are divesting a couple of the other fringe players

Agree bout walton but i dont know much about him but centre is the only postion im concerned about dont believe we have real quality there im hoping gibson topou or evan hall go well as for half back we have finn miller. moore is good cover there with tansey and hall as extras

we seem to be forgetting morris im sure a poster on here says hes better than those mentioned above

Clarification, mid 2015 season, Walton left Salford and signed a 2 or 2.5 year deal at London Broncos, of which he lasted a matter of months before being shown the door. Off field issues were to blame. He then became a free agent so you have signed a free agent.

We are clearly lacking a quality centre. Topou isn't natural even tho I rate. Lynn and Arundel are just jokes,Tanseys performances at wing/centre were laughable Gibson hasn't really set the world alight in recent years. Looks like our hopes may pin on Morris. No more 2nd rowers we need a good quality centre

I think we have plenty of cover in the centre. A good young prospect at h b would be the best option.
I'm sure B S will know what positions we need to look at.

With a Topou offload wont we have the same problem as Lautiti? Morris needs to be good cos I dont rate the others at centre one bit. Topou is awinger for me but looks like he will be a centre.

Not changed much have you, you really don't do any research.

Gibson is far and away the most experienced and technically competent centre we have had for a while, You do know he played 3 games for England A at centre and scored twice. He also has an excellent strike record at club level. If Gibson has arrived fit and in a good frame of mind he's a very very useful SL standard cents - way up from Lyne and Arundal.

As for Bill Tupou why don't you and all the other nay sayers give the bloke a chance at Centre before binning him. He only played there a few times last year in a team on the back foot and now apparently he'll never be a centre - give the players who arrived late to do a rescue job a chance as last season was hardly the time for expansive rugby when he arrived.

I rate Topou and not binned him at all but what good is a non passing centre to anyones eye hes a better wing man. Johnstone and him on the wings would be extremely dangerous. Gibson at cas and Salford has been shocking and his defence is woeful but like you say maybe a step up from the dross of Arundel and Lynne.

I would have liked a quality centre but the budgets the budget. I think a lot depends on how Craig Hall goes this year- if fit and interested he would start for me

Our head coach see's him as a centre you clearly don't, the difference being he knew him from Oz, where as 3 month ago you had never heard of him and could not even spell his name properly, I can't make my mind up here whose opinion to agree with, you or B Smith

I've not seen anyone suggesting he's world class but I've certainly not seen anyone describe him like you do either - workmanlike from what I've seen - so s big step up.I will say again on paper he is our best centre and ranks average in terms of SL centres. Whether he performs for us is yet to be seen but stop rewriting history please.

You will never agree about players ability. With regards to centre's how many English centres playing SL are word class. Why does the England squad play a s r in that position. The vast majority of centres playing in SL are fit for purpose and I would certainly place Gibson in that list.
I honestly don't see many class acts .
