Doubtful; you wouldn't dismiss someone for not turning up - you'd deal with the original misconduct, and if they chose not to turn up to an interview or a hearing, you would conduct it, and possibly dismiss them, in their absence.

At the beginning of this week Lee Smith asked not to be selected for this weekends game against Bradford, without knowing the ins and outs of his reasons you could only assume he'd signed for them as there were no other logical conclusion, if he has signed for them then now we know why he did not want to play for us.

Anyone else sick to death of payers kicking us in the teeth when we needed them the most. JD mentions such players in his message to the club and supporters...you know the players that no-one else wanted but given a chance by us !!!!!!!!! Let's face it's just another unexplained team selection. It's a shame but it would be easy to say when naming the squad that he was or wasn't available for whatever reason. The same could be said for Ashurst, it would save a lot of speculation but I suppose on the other hand it stops the supporters questioning the selection of Lyne or Tansey ahead of them.

I wonder if James Lowes assuming it's him and not the chairman what selects the team, bothers to tell the Bradford fans the reasons he has not picked the other twenty or so players not selected.

I think it's a genuine error by the club that they don't compel Brian Smith, Head Coach and bona fide RL expert, to meet with a selection of posters from this forum once a week to run his team selections by them and get them signed off. He could also use that opportunity to disclose all the confidential details of any HR and disciplinary matters involving players - kill two birds with one stone like.

Think the decision not to play Locke, T.Smith and L.Smith was a massive call by BS but if the club is to move forward and become more hard nosed and professional with how they recruit and handle players, it was right.
We have 3 players in Jowitt, Johnstone and Crowther who have massive potential bit if they see senior players getting away with murder, with no repercussions, they will move to another club a lot quicker.
Put the structures in place and make it a club that players want to play for, not an easy money ride.
