Like rest of the Cas rejects he should do one. Steve Gill played a blinder off loading these. Powell is a good coach he knows his players there is a reason he is offloading

I'm still in disbelief that you signed him, but was jumping for joy when you did as I thought we'd never get rid of the clown!! I did, however, think that he'd do a half decent job for you to help you survive the 8's due to his utility value. Sounds like he's not doing that??

| Quote ="wtid71"I was staggered to see MC's comment on twitter last night. Asking if Martin's complaint was to do with the free food or drink he had received is a disgusting comment to make to any fan in our clubs hospitality area. Pathetic jibe made to an obviously passionate Wakey fan who like us all observed the most dispassionate can't be ars*d performance in one of the most critical games for our clubs future.'"
Totally agree with above.

Welcome back from your holiday,I'd like to say I hope the weather in Margate was good for you, but you know I'd be lying btw crossing the river Thames on the Woolwich Ferry is stretching the imagination a bit, it's not really sailing through the English channel.
Quote ="Scarlet Pimpernell"I agree he does not directly influence the on field performance but he is responsible for the standard of player we put onto the field. He is also responsible for the off field which to be honest is just as poor. We have sub standard shop with sub standard goods and a questionable ticketing system.'"
Well that's a first, you actually agreeing about something which is not his fault, as far as I'm aware, as I'm sure you are that Mr Carter said that there was was so much money in the pot and the coach could choose which players he wanted within the budget and he would have no input in player recruitment, as for sub standard goods I would have thought you'd be the last person to join the fashion police, and I suppose you personally would question anything concerning the chairman, sad really you seriously need to get a life, maybe it's come through a lifetime of selling insurance.
Quote ="Scarlet Pimpernell"He is also responsible for preventing Chissett from being able to gloat on other clubs boards about how good we are.'"
Not sure why you think Mr Carter has any responsibility for anything I do or say, unlike you I have no personal interest in the man, as far as I'm concerned he is the club chairman nothing more, nothing less, not sure what you mean though about gloating on other boards how good we are, I just merely defend the club against unwarranted rumours and criticism, something completely alien to your nature. Btw you spelt chissitt wrong not surpribing really for someone who changes their user name at the drop of a hat, here's a suggestion for your next change "lost in space" HTH.

| Considering the massive social media backlash to last night's performance I think everyone at the club should stop being so defensive and for a second try to understand how the fans feel. They need to make it right.
I don't think I've ever seen so much negativity about our club from our fans on social media following a performance. Yes the performance was dire. As a fan I knew the significance of that match and had fire in my belly going to the game as a supporter. Yet I saw no evidence of fire in the bellies of the players.
Maybe there is a good reason but nobody is sharing it so how are we going to understand?
After the players really putting the effort in for the first 4 rounds we know they can look more committed than that.
I stayed to the very end. Even though I am not in the North Stand the players couldn't even be bothered to walk much further than the half way line to applaud the fans that remain. They really didn't look that bothered. If a poor performance and defeat like that doesn't hurt professional players as much as it hurts us fans then something needs to change.

I stayed the end to see Scruton and Tim Smith sheepishly make their way up to the 50 or so fans left in the North Stand. They were that few they could've vaulted over the advertising hoardings and apologised to each person individually.

| MC is lucky we played Saturday because it allows him to be able to watch his first love Sunderland who sadly he appears to consider a good model for Wakefield to follow.

| Saw the stuff on Twitter - it's not quite as it's been described here, but still a bit undignified; there is fault on all sides though.
And I wouldn't put too much stock in what Fozzard says - didn't MC let him go when he took over? Probably has an axe to grind.

| How do you consider that fault was on both sides. We have someone willing to sponsor the club despite our poor season and a chairman so insecure that he takes all comments personally and lashes out verbally. He will quickly learn that sponsors will be hard to find so insulting one is a quick way to see the club continue to decline.
He must also consider that with the relegation of the club our he will lose much of his current notariety and demand for TV and Radio will diminish along with followers on his Twitter account.

| I'm no fan, but this is how I see it, and to some extent you're being unfair, in others bang on.
Positives under his reign:
After 2 years the books look "steady" - After a history of financial disasters, this is a big positive. Very big.
Negatives:
Kept Agar on too long - don't criticise him for that. He didn't appoint him, ended up with him, and the "sticking with him too long" phase took place in the aftermath of a record-breaking end of season. It is easy to understand how you might give him chance to do what he'd done before. He only let him hang on a few games too long, albeit in a relegation season that can be crucial.
Kept Webster on too long - hard to be critical of his appointment. Webster transformed Agar's team, and if he hadn't given him a chance, he'd have been a fool. Again, only a few games too long, and perhaps Webster wasn't the problem.
Kept Clawson, Gilmour and Dickens - I'll go with this one, although I'm not convinced those are his call. His job is to run a business, not make rugby decisions.
Sanctioned gutless signings such as Tansey, Paea and Hall - again, following advice from rugby people.
Abuses and alienates fans - this is where I lose all patience with him. He runs a struggling business but goes out of way to make his customers as unwelcome as possible. He doesn't build bridges, he throws dummies out of the pram. His twitter feed has its motto a Bill Shankly quote that is a direct insult towards those very customers we need to win back, those who have drifted away. The twitter spat last night should have involved an olive branch to someone seeking to do business, and instead he abuses the guy. The whole theme of his public posts is that we are the problem. He tweets frequently about what people post on here about transfer rumours. Hey, get real, people are engaged with your product. Worry when people couldn't care less about transfer rumours. His attitude stinks and it alienates customers.
Signs Cas rejects - rugby decisions
Put together the worst Wakefield team - rugby decisions
No atmosphere at BV - I wonder whether this is down to attitudes towards fans, the customers, it would be great if it wasn't for us.
I cut him some slack on some things, and as a money man, he clearly knows his stuff. But as the frontman for a customer-dependent business, he isn't good, and is as bad as the Ryanair guy.

MC obviously reads thus forum. This is 100 percent correct and MC should take note and stop alienating genuine fans

Martin is in a somewhat privileged position, given his previous role with the club; if he was sat in hospitality in sight of MC, he could have shown better judgement in what he posted on Twitter.
That said, I agree with everything Slugger has said - the official club Twitter feed should be handled by someone who uses it purely for marketing and communications purposes and MC should not, in my view, use it to air his frustrations and grievances; it's childish and immature and serves to alienate fans, sends the wrong message to corporate clients and whips up the very rumours that he feels the need to read on here, then scotch on social media in his own waspish, dismissive style. It's not at all clever and sends a very negative message about the culture of the club.

Agree with that and Slugger's excellent summary. I'd go a bit further and that the way he comes across on twitter makes you think he is a complete d*ck, even if in reality he isn't (who knows, never met him)

| Dont know Carter but I do know he has done little to win stay away supporters back many long serving supporters home and away for many years he is too quick in slagging them off
I also feel he should not be involved on social media sites and that goes for the players too

| I know another Carter bashing thread but I think we have all seen a change in the make up of our supporter base. I have never seen so many investigations in one season but I have also not seen drinks being sold in the ground relatively cheaply for so long.
We have history with Widnes so what do we do open the bars at 1500hrs offer cheap beer and change the kick off to 1800hrs. I guess trouble was avoided by the majority of supporters taking the opportunity to leave early and go into town.

After the comments from Carter and from Kirmond at the weekend that may have lost a potential sponsor to the club it looks like there as been a lock down on twitter. Only themselves to blame I'm afraid. At the moment it's a shambles
