| Still say Miller is a poor player, our best half back combination is Smith and Godinet. Can`t understand how anyone would pick Molloy, Kavanger or Walker in front of Anakin. Lee Smith and Tupou have to play at Hudds, we have no idea how Lee Smith will go , lets be fair he could not even get into a very poor Newcastle Falcons team, that said he may be looking great in training and also 99% of prem RU backs and back row forwards are miles better than SL players, fitter, faster, stronger, more skillful and better tacklers so its no disgrace for a SL player not to get in a RU team. We have got to hope that Brian Smith has done his research on Tupou who has only played one game this season and that the lad is better than what we have which afterall is not a big ask

| I'd put all three above Annakin right now. Walker, Kavanagh are ahead of him at prop.
As a back row he could be equal with Molloy.
Smith is behind 2 international younger wingers at Newcastle. It doesn't mean he's not good enough to play, just not as good as them.

Agree Avenger, when Miller went to fullback, our attack went backwards.Miller has been our only attacking option over the last few games.

I certainly am and only someone without the expertise to see the differences in ability to execute core skills or understand the differing levels of intensity, pressure & fatigue those skills are subjected to in their respective environments would ever seek to argue your point!
We are all entitled to opinions, this is a forum after all but you are stating this as fact and you are wrong!
I'll also add that while RU players look like fine athletic specimens these days they are far from being the all rounders that RL are. Union players lack the aerobic endurance of League players, their game simply doesn't demand it. That is also true when you break down conditioning and fitness into its components. Speed endurance, agility, change of direction, mental toughness, explosiveness, power to weight, muscular endurance and so on.

If you mean our backline then you are probably right. RU v RL in general, no way are 99% of their backs/back row "miles better" - seems that's a statement just to get a reaction.

| There is`nt an outside back at Wakey who would have been first choice in last seasons Sandal team. Sandal has Allot player in the last season ( he has now signed for Hull Ionians ) to join another Wakefield based player Joe Barker. Allot and Barker would have been the best two players in our team. The two wingers at Sandal last season are miles better that Johnson, Riley, Lyne, Tansey ( not Owen who has been our best outside back this season ) . You have to face facts Avenger RU has moved on . So much so that that any Prem RU team having had a couple of training sessions at RL would stuff any SL side at RL. Trinity always had a great record in signing RU players it has proved to be a fantastic resource for us in the past, signing players from Junior RL clubs and them becoming stars at RL . If we had a proper rugby committee we could benefit from this again, Players like Don Metcalf, Geoff Clarkson, Lampkowski, Skeene, Goetzer , Keith Smith, Diamond, Juliff, Gartwaite, Berywn Jones , Don Vines etc etc etc to name but a very few were all scouted and signed by Trinity`s rugby committee members, men who could spot a player.

| Belly that is so far off the mark it's not even funny.
I assume you watch RU but you clearly don't understand either game, from wither a skills or a conditioning point of view.
The game has changed a lot since those players you list played for us.

| All those palyers, and there are many more who we signed from RU, would be RL superstars in the modern game, imagine Done Vines playing today he would put the fear of God into a modern player. Berywin Jones the fastest man ever to play, Keith Smith had more skill in his little finger than any player playing SL today I could go on.

| R U come on at a much faster pace than RL. In many cases its coached by very good x R L men and im willing to bet that you will see less kicks in general play . The only real stumbling blocks the centres still have problems in drawing a man.
Don't be kidding yourselves .fFom a supporters point of view it has more to offer, and from a players point of view it attracts people of all shapes and sizes.
Still keep ya head in the sand

You're probably correct with those players named above as for last years Sandal team, give over, they're probably on par with Eastmoor skill and fitness wise. You say you "could go on", I'd suggest belly that most people on here consider that you certainly do.

| If Rugby League players are so much better than Rugby Union players why is Sam Burgess struggling to make an impact.

Can work both ways - Wigan signed an RU player a few seasons back and IIRC he only played 15 mins.

He's in the England squad after half a season playing in the forwards, which was supposed to be impossible.
I've seen him play live and in TV and he is one of Bath's key players and they all love him. Even Lawrenny Delalligo is raving about him.
So hardly struggling.

| I think the experiment will probably be in view for one more week and that's ok for me. Not left with much of an option after the new arrivals over the last couple of days.

| Indeed, all the new signings have to play so that is Tupou, Smith, Moore, Mullally with Walker and Sio as well. Probably should include Tansey.
But I'd also play Jowitt as I think he should be the lead No.1 for the middle 8s in the absence of Locke. He needs game time too.
