Don't buy that at all - no Coach couldn't be any worse. Before we got Kear we went one game without a Coach and it didn't work - however that team still performed better than this lot have in the last 11 games with a so called coach!
Frankly anyone from outside the club would do - so long as they are not tainted by Elston/Agar.

Positivity will do, that seems to be Rowley's main strength - lying the game and sticking to your beliefs.

I think you need a longer term plan. Kear might be the man to motivate a last ditch fight to stay in SL but is he the man for a long term rebuild? Today was obviously massively disappointing, losing with against championship opposition with some of your key men back in the side. But I personally feel Wakefield might well be better accepting that they might be better off in the Championship under the current structure.

The one thing I would say is if Webster is sacked/goes of his own accord then for god sake don't promote one of the assistants as they cant help fix it now as part of the back room staff let alone if they took charge.

On the surface of it Bully, that might sound like a good idea, but if we do get relegated (forgone conclusion if nothing changes), we are likely to get booted out of Belle Vue by the ground's owner's - The Bank of Ireland - as they are already chomping at the bit, and, as we have been shafted by Newmarket's developers AND OUR OWN COUNCIL, then we will be groundless, and possibly have to look at sharing with Dewsbury. This will mean that our already dwindling support will ebb away to virtually nothing, reducing our income even further, at which point our thrifty chairman, is likely to walk away (if he hasn't already done so). Staying in Superleague really is our only hope of survival - IT REALLY HAS GOT THAT BAD !!!

Probably the off-field problem is why the coach is struggling to motivate the players - or the players motivate themselves.

Angelic Cynic.....As far as I am aware, there have been no issues with the players wages this season, so why should events off the field impact on them ??. It is their job to perform on the pitch and nothing else. Let the Chairman worry about events off the field.
It's not luck we need...it's players to do what they are paid to do....and a lorry load of cash would come in useful as well, please !!!

The one thing that Kear can do, is instil belief and bring the best out of the players.
The squad that he had during his last season in charge was nowhere near our current squad.

Leigh came out full of vigour and belief and Wakefield looked beaten as they took the field, it was truly awful and with the exception of the comeback
at Cas, under Webster's reign, we just don't seem capable of changing the game once it's under way.
I despair at what must go on between the coaching staff and blame must also go to our senior players who should be capable of dealing with adversity during the game.

As for Kear, I'd have him back at a heartbeat, Webster is no longer fit for the job and if he had some pride, he would do the decent thing.

Sorry mate, I wasn't aware the situation re the ground was so critical. If that issue can be resolved, life in the Championship isn't too shabby..it's certainly helped re-ignite my passion for my team.

How he kept us from finishing bottom that last season was a testament to what a great coach he is

Well...I bloody told all you Kear slaggers so. All those saying he was a dinosaur, negative, one trip pony, no modern ideas and all the other utter tripe I read about John Kear...a coach who knows how to motivate and how to play the right tactics for the team he has. And the idiots at the time said it was time for him to move on...well I tell you this, if he'd stayed we wouldn't be in the mess we are now. I am going to say this a lot..I TOLD YOU SO!

John Kear is the Sam Allardyce of Rugby League. I have a funny feeling he is going to have the last laugh with Newcastle next weekend. Kear is of a similar ilk. He may well not be a future Leeds or St Helens coach but he sure as hell knows how to get the right results from less gifted players...proves it over and over again and we were stupid to part company with him

I have no problem with playing in the Championship; there are some tasty looking derbies to be had there. However it's how we find our way there that bothers me. If we play to our strengths, put the effort in and do our best but nevertheless get beaten by better teams then I can live with that. The problem is, we have a fairly talented bunch of players who just aren't doing what they are paid to do, led by by a coach who is clearly out of his depth and won't accept it.

When Rowley has 2 CCups under his belt (both as underdogs), the greatest escape in SL history and umpteen other achievements then we'll laugh with you not at you.

Im not trying to be funny just stating facts ,I've seen Kear team a lot over the past couple of seasons ,his ideas and tactics are outdated at best,Batley can't play rugby ,they are good at time wasting and spoiling rugby that's all,Kear would take you back to these tactics maybe you would win the odd game but not good to watch.As for Rowls he could be a future England Coach given the chance,when we signed Fui he asked Tom Armstrong how much losing pay was?Armstrong replied , I don't know I've only been here a year.

I reckon we've seen him a lot more than you, but either way, it's our club so respect our delusions and jog on.

I have to say I always wanted Kear to stay. I remember at the time saying he was our most valuable employee, over all the players at the time.
Bad decision to let him go and I reckon some of it was that the board at the time listened to the moaners on the terrace.

We need a strong leader behind the scenes like Hetherington was, like her or not, and a good leader in the proverbial dug out, and then a good leader on the field.
In my opinion, the team we have is good enough if you have someone who can lead them and make them play as a team.

I think that the appointment of either 'Kear' or 'Kelly' would not only motivate the players , but motivate those fans staying away and those threatening to do likewise, to get back on board!
