I agree about Dobson being a loss for Salford but that said, Fages was outstanding for them and but for him the winning margin would have been more.

Leigh used just 3 of their subs all game,Hock was no use nor ornament for the time he was on & Aspinwall had a strapped up knee,Worthington wasnt used at all

Refs make bad decisions for both teams you know & players from both teams throw out bad passes, its all just part of the game.

We all like to see an underdog do well but O' Connor should tried to be neutral in his commentary.

I like Leigh and enjoy their current brand of playing the game, Rowleys going to be a top coach for years too.

I guess what I'm pointing out is the task ahead of Leigh or any of the Championship teams is a huge one.
Against a relatively injury free Super League team and perhaps away from home the gulf is big. That's not Leigh's fault it's just a reality, the speed, intensity and relentlessness of Super League tempers even the poorest sides like Wakefield into something Championship teams will find very hard to overcome.

So if Patterson and Godwin were the half backs where was Fages playing? Agree with all the rest though
. Leigh lifted their game against Salford, whether they could do it week after week in the middle 8 is another thing.

I didn't say Godwin and Patterson were in the halves at the same time but at periods during the second half one or the other was partnering Fages

At the moment i'd say only Leigh & Bradford will trouble the bottom 4 SL clubs but as you say it will still be a uphill task for them to string 7 high intensity games together.

From a Leigh point of view "should we finish top of the league" i'd say having 4 of those games at home is a big advantage,it really is a difficult place to come and get a result these days, and i think having a winning mentality should not be underestimated.

The bradford vs HKR game should be interesting today

Of all the teams in the Championship, Leigh have the ability to make me eat my words but; I think under the middle 8 system promotion will become a two year process where teams learn from the first year and use that knowledge to build and be successful in their second year.

That's what I think it will take to bridge the gap!

Leigh are a winning team playing with confidence lose a couple and it could all change they are a solid well drilled well coached side but nothing special

Leigh also have the potential to field a far stronger team than they put out against Salford. They were missing Wilkes their skipper, fui fui moi moi who has been ripping it up for them,their first choice winger Higson and their pivotal interchanging hooker. All 4 of them were not in the 17 due to injury.

Someone alluded to Leigh only getting back in the game due to a Salford error. Leigh also bombed a couple of glorious opprtunities themselves. Liam Kay losing the ball when it looked a certainty he had scored and Ryan Brierley uncharacteristically dropping the ball when put clean through. Both would have been tries on any other day.

Some say they are not overly concerned of the threat Leigh pose in the middle 8s to the current SL teams maintaining their SL status.

I think its going to be very interesting and i would not underestimate Leigh or Bradford's ability to finish in the top 4,

You're talking crap. I'd suggest Webster is doing just the opposite, he's in effect said we are preparing for the split rather than on SS games, to hopefully have us playing well as needed. Not underestimating at all.

Neutral? Did you ever hear his commentaries on Leigh's Championship games with Widnes? (the season that ended with Widnes being 'promoted') Now THEY were biased commentaries, especially when you consider that 'his team' conceded 50+ points to Leigh, in consecutive weeks!

So we were lucky that Salford weren't down to 12 men after 1 minute. Patterson has been charged with a Grade D offence, with no right to early guilty plea. So it was a RED card offence....LUCKY LUCKY Leigh !!!!
