| Quote ="Easty"We where missing Weyman, Larroyer & Bailey on Sunday. All three would have been in our 17 man squad against Leeds. There is a chance 2 of the three will play against yourselves. Still don't think we looked bad against Leeds and dominated Leeds in the forwards for large parts of the game. We also outshone Leeds for 60 minutes so if we can turn that into an 80 minute performance we'll do okay on sunday.'"
Having only seen the highlights, Leeds scored following one of the most blatant obstructions that you will ever see (the Maguire try in the 2nd half)
How that wasn't a penalty is just baffling.

| I don't think many Wakey fans will be fearful of Bailey's return to action - the lad's full of and wind.
That said - from the highlights, HKR look to have plenty of threat in attack; it'll be a tough game.

| Any thoughts we have from round one we have to take with a pinch of salt. Teams don't usually bed down properly til 4/5 maybe even later.

I saw that so called try live and was outraged along with the 10000 other Rovers fans. Thaler had a shocker. A couple of other key decisions went against us as well, which would have been allowed by the video ref if the match was televised. These weren't shown on the highlights. I have also watched the full game back on our TV channel.
The game could have gone either way until Leeds got their final try 3 minutes from the end. By then HKR were running on empty as Leeds were throwing the ball around at will to try to get a breakthrough and the game was getting like touch rugby. Exciting but hardly structured. It was high risk for Leeds and it paid off for them - just.
We had a fullback who tried to wipe the dandruff off Briscoe's shirt instead of tackling him for his opening try in the 2nd minute and a centre who has played for us for the last 7 seasons and who jumped the line for a pastime. Watkins and Maguire exploited this weakness for 2 tries. Hopefully he won't start for us this week.
Despite what has been written by many Wakey fans in this thread, the Hull Kr forwards outplayed Leeds in the first half, matched them for the first 20 minutes of the second half and then tired and fell off tackles in the last 20 minutes when Leeds went high risk.
It should be a good game on Sunday and it could go either way, but I expect Rovers to tighten up a bit and Wakey to try to hammer us up the middle. Will be close.
Finally, I wish we still had Craig Hall - talented lad.
Good Luck.

Only Bailey in your squad which is more of a boost for us than you. Donaldson also now out injured as well. I think we will get on top the longer the game goes. Wakey by 12.

Walker, Green and Allgood are all very big lads at 110kg+, so if your expecting to dominate us down the middle, then you might be in for a rude awakening. But may the best team win. Allway's had a soft spot for Wakie, more than them heathens down Wheldon road.

It's ok Dee, the bookies have the game off scratch, so technically we're not favourites

Very disappointed with Kelly today, looked a bit lazy and was just looking for a bit of opportunism.
Campese tried hard but lacked support from his half back partner.
Last year we got smashed by their big pack but they miss Hodgson to guide their forwards round.

| Had to laugh at the KR fan who after their fortuitous opening score that it would be the first of 40 points, he was of course correct but sadly not in the way he had hoped.
Great attacking display, best I've seen for a while. Trinity looked like they could score from anywhere on the field. The full length Riley try was a joy to watch. Clean up the errors and it's going to be a promising season. HKR were very poor. They're going to struggle if they keep that up.

| I thought Kelly was by far their most dangerous player....along with their interchange hooker..
With all the hype over him was bitterly disappointed with Campese. Thought he was very predictable.
Tim Smith totally bossed it for me and we comprehensively outplayed them in every possible way....good performance and a great start to the season....hope we keep it up!

Still full of and wind - squared up to Tim Smith today, then kept his head down when there were hard yards to do.
He got his own song from the Wakey faithful though - and I think a few HKR supporters joined in...

| I thought we made it difficult for ourselves at times, silly mistakes and penalties kept them in the game at half time.
We look good so far this year, our pack alone is going to bully some teams into defeat.

| I thought going forward the link up, backing up and openings created was outstanding. I think at one stage in the second half we'd had 2 attacks and scored 2 tries off Kirmond and Riley in the corner. Not getting carried away but at this early stage it's looking very promising. They all did well, worked their socks off in the latter part to try and pen them in. Good luck to KR thought they were decent in patches, maybe it will take a while for so many newbies to bed in. As usual a good following from their supporters, thought it looked slightly more than 5,300.

Considering Kr were well beaten I thought Kelly had a decent game and if anything it was Campese who lacked involvement and was far less of a threat than Kelly, If I had single out any of their players' it would be him.

| The quality of the passing and the creativity was a delight to watch. Hull KR didn't know where the attack was going to come from next. The best I've seen in years. Backed up by a great defence it was smiles all round. Everyone was playing for each other, the backing up was there and the fitness. It was great to see some fast play the balls which allowed us to just go rolling forward, tackle after tackle at times. Well done everybody.

Hate to say I told you so....
Excellent performance by all 17, our forward strength, good structures, fast hands and speed was way too good for what is a poor Hull KR side. Have to say Miller plays the supporting role to Tim Smith well and his support play is something we have lacked for a while. We looked dangerous with the ball ball everytime and whilst theres a couple of things that i have no doubt Webster will want to work on we are looking very good. Long may it continue!
