Instead of repeating yourself constantly try and understand people are having an opinion.
Its a forum, its what its for. If you don't like it don't look.
The irony is, you are moaning about people (in your [iopinion[/i) moaning.

| Correct I am moaning, about the fact that there always seems to be a negative thread, people are entitled to their opinion, I'm just airing mine too, I knew as soon as I posted i would get this sort of reply, just because I'm not part of the forum or the merry band of misery that seems to surround this place!

| When did rugby league become a family sport? I seem to recall someone telling me that it was a marketing ploy in the 70s due to the goings on in football at the time.
Not looking for an argument, just wondering

| Thought atmosphere was abit subdued in the north stand until last quarter, I think multiple things affected the attendance, rain , skymatch, big weekend of sport and I know we shouldn't rely on away support but that was the worse leeds have brought for aslong as I can remember.

| Quote ="RealSteel89"Theres no banter in singing "if you really ******* hate em clap your hands" Thats just vile language and not fit for an area were children are present. If you do not understand this you obviously have an issue. Yes i understand there is swearing at a rugby league game, but when a few hundred people are singing it together thats completely different. Kids like to get involved in the chants and if they start copying that its obviously not good. The northstanders are nothing short of brilliant at times. But spoil it at other times.'"
I am not saying it's right but if you think kids in this day and age don't hear language like that in other places, then I would suggest that you also have an issue. My wife teaches in a primary school some of things she tells me the kids say they have learnt at home is appalling.

| I agree with the OP - it's great when the Northstanders sing and support the team in a positive way, but I'm not enamoured with the abusive and sweary chants - it's not banter and it's only 'a bit of fun' if you haven't got kids with you or aren't offended by that kind of language. If you are, it's an imposition on your enjoyment of the game and it doesn't paint the club in a very positive light.

| Would hope the choir can put together a nice tribute chant for Phil Clarke, in readiness for Thursday night's game, following his support last Friday. Containing the words Please, Please, Please would be good.

| Tour de France is a huge event and I'm happy to see Yorkshire host huge events however, it is overhyped beyond all recognition, same as RU events where the occasion is huge, media attention massive and an event that celebs like to be seen at but the sporting fare is dire and doesn't deserve all of the above.
RL is exactly the polar opposite!

| Ex West Stander here and I was dubious about moving into the North Stand but I do feel the atmosphere is brilliant and they really get behind the lads. Some of the chants aren't to my liking but it doesn't effect my experience.
I heard far worse leaving the stadium Friday, with a group of 15-20 'Leeds fans' chanting. Quite embarrassing to be honest, but 99.9% of fans represent their clubs impeccably

Maybe so but there's Wimbledon and Formula 1 on TV at present but I've had the cycling on in the room whilst I get on with some work stuff. Must be the nice Yorkshire scenery.

| It's folly to dismiss the TdF; it's one of the biggest events in the sporting calendar and has millions of fans the world over. A million people turned out to watch the Grand Departe yesterday and I'd imagine there'll be a similar number today - it's huge and dwarfs RL in terms of popularity!

It's a group of gimlet eyed, heavily tattooed doormen knocking the e out of each other in a.n other mining town in the North of England; what's the big attraction?
Horses for courses I guess; personally, I'm a big fan of cycling and despite all the controversy that has surrounded the sport, the athleticism involved in riding the TdF is nothing short of superhuman. Not to mention the heroic marketing effort that has meant this one weekend of cycling has done more for the image of Yorkshire than several decades of RL ever has; get that man signed up, before someone else does.

Tour De France is a world event in sport and for once it's in Yorkshire.
It's bound to get the attention whether you like cycling or not.

| Never been a particularly great fan of cycling but you have to respect the participants endurance levels and the whole event will have done wonders for the Yorkshire economy both now and for a long time to come. I've enjoyed keeping an eye on it and having been up in some of those North Yorkshire towns and villages just early last week it is great to see how the communities have come together as one to promote the event and make it a fantastic occaision.
