| Did we look like we were going for a drop goal in the last minute at Widnes. Widnes held back and Sykes saw the gap and scored a try.
From where I was a drop goal looked a certain but Sykes might have seen it different

| It's all conjecture, if for example he had gone for one point when the scores were level we could have lost. They didn't and we scored to extend the lead to 6 points.

| Can't be unhappy with the one point.
I think they were expecting the one point when we scored our last try, which is where the gaps came up.
Yes, they scored tries from our mistakes, but we scored two tries from their mistakes - Lynne's length of the field was a poor kick on the last and the second try was a kick that should have been cleared by the defence - its not remarkable that mistakes lead to tries.
It was a great game of rugby today. Game of three periods in the first half. Awesome defence in the first twenty minutes.
Ryan puts his body on the line every game - think he's broken that left arm at least ten times this season.
So many ifs and buts - if Owen had caught that pass in the first half, if Hull hadn't have got a fingertip on the pass to Riley in the second half, but frankly great game, great effort.
I was shouting for the one point from twenty minutes out, even before our last try, and am gutted they didn't take it with a minute to go, or go for another set, or a scrum, but hey at this rate, let Bradford spend hundreds of thousands on appeals - they're still going down!!
Great effort lads, lets keep going….

| Quote ="Jose Mourinho"Can we get back to the subject !!!!!
Can't believe we didn't go for the 1 point especially as there was a break in play for an injury.
2 minutes left in front the sticks last play - what were they thinking !!??
Easy to say it doesn't matter if they don't go 100 metres and score and convert a try but that was a big error even by our standards.
That's said, I thought it was the best defensive performance of the season and at least there was a lot of effort and determination out there.
Big wrap to the forwards and thought Moore and Tautia were very effective.
Left the game very disappointed not due to the last minute try but by dumb rugby at the end !!'"
please explain at what part was there any dumb rugby, drop goal wasn't a guarantee the lads put them selves about an and endured 20 mins constant pressure on our own line in the first half, what do you really want from the club

| Nowt to do with the drop goal that wasn't , but our first conversion missed ( I'd like to see Hulls try in the first half too - looked like Lynn had made a try saving tackle to me ) so chuffed to bits with a point tbh .

In fairness Snowy,
A point from the game is a good result for us considering the form we've been in for most of the season.
Had you asked me before the game if a draw was OK I'd have said yes. If you'd asked me 60 minutes into the game if I'd settle for a draw I'd have said yes. If you'd asked me 2 minutes from the end, leading by 6 and attacking their line I'd have said no because from that position we should have won. The dumb football bit is no reflection on the magnificent effort put in during the match but that doesn't stop it from being dumb football. The players knew it when they walked off the pitch and down the tunnel, they looked like they'd lost the game while Hull looked happy to draw.

| I was disappointed going home but contented with the point but more with the first half effort, this was a side willing to go that but further even Mathers looked a different player in defence, just look at what a bit of confidence has done to the lads
well happy now I do feel more relaxed

| PS couldn't do DG on that last tackle cos Hull were up on him so quick.
But maybe we should have done one before that.
Agree with Avenger - 6 up with only minutes left should have drilled ball into touch, took time to form scrum, tackled out the last minute. Dumb last 2 mins, but excellent 78 mins prior to that.

There is a clock on top of the old hospitality boxes on the West Terrace.

| Thankful for the point - that could be priceless at the end of the season. Well done to the team and keep it up, so many players are making their critics (including me) eat their words and I'm very pleased they are.

It was dumb not attempting the drop goal 6 points up with 2 minutes to play. Ample opportunity to take the shot - if it's charged down or it missed then fair enough but the team made the wrong decision there
Other than that it was a cracking effort from the lads today.
Ps Sammut would have made the right call

'" funny how a drop goal was on the cards before but ended up with a try, so easy to look back and say what if, how about what if Westerman hadn't converted that last try
like you said cracking effort from the lads, be proud in what they did I am

| I was screaming for the drop goal when it was 14 all. Sykes was set up for it but McShane saw it different and put Scruton in. The conversion took us 6 points up. A one pointer then would have only seen us go 1 point up and we'd have probably lost the game.
There definitely was an opportunity to go for the drop goal again but who's to say it would have gone over? Could have quite easily come off the post and Hull could have gone up the other end to score.
It's that old story of if my auntie had balls she'd be my uncle.
Just be happy for the 1 point.

| The point doesn't really make much difference, whilst two would have done. We are still two behind Hull, Salford still one win from going above us and our points difference advantage over Bradford makes the odd point irrelevant. Not going for the one after Kirmond had been done injured was the wrong call. Great effort yes, no doubt about it and a draw was probably a fair result but it felt like a defeat leaving the ground and still does now.

We made the wrong decision today. I thought it was an entertaining game and TBH I am content with the result. I would of loved a win but I'd rather a draw than a loss.
Hulls early pressure on our line for 10 minutes shown some great character and defence. The signs are good we bombed a couple of chances (Moore offload and Owen knocking on a Tim pass) but atleast we have something to build on for Leeds. They humiliated us earlier in the season and I feel we can compete against them on Friday.

My defence for Moorey would be that he thought Hull had knocked on and it was a free play. That's what I thought at the time.

Not the same at, with just 2 minutes to go a 7 point lead would have been insurmountable, game over, and that's exactly what we should have done and the players knew it. Having not gone for the drop goal to kill the game the next option isn't to go for a killer try but to pen the opposition on their own line either by kicking to the corner but keeping it in play or by grubbering it into touch and eating the time up with a scrum.
Like I said before it doesn't detract one iota from the efforts and commitment of the previous 78 minutes but it was poor game management from which we will learn through bitter experience.
