I don't live in Wakefield either. Takes me an hour 1 way to get to the ground.

I often call the club shop and speak to Angelina or one of the other staff to organise tickets so guests I bring with me can have a ticket in the East Stand to sit with me. (I'm a season ticket holder even though I can't make all home matches.)

I also travel a lot, globally. I'm currently in the US and often use Skype or some other means to get in touch and arrange tickets before hand.

As it happens I fly back into Manchester airport at around 8am on Sun 29th June. This is the day we play Hull FC. I've already called the club and arranged tickets to be collected on the day of the match for some guests I'm bringing with me.

Sorry things don't work out for you Vasty. Personally for me I try my best when I can, no matter where I am in the world. It works for me but each to their own.

I don't think anyone can question his love of the club and to do so is out of line in my opinion. I think he makes a valid point that walk ups would be increased if the deal was available on the day. People have plans that change, may get an invite out etc and to find you'd be paying over double because of a spur of the moment decision could be very galling

The whole point is 'Vasty ' made it everyone's business when in a 'fit of pique' he stated he would not be going to the match as some sort of protest against not being able to pay 10 quid on the gate.
It is a forum for discussion and as' Vasty ' is one of the main protagonists on here I am sure he couldn't care less about his comments being discussed.
I am not the only one on here to have metaphorically' raised their eyebrows' at the surprising attitude of a long term supporter.

We won in a fashion and that was in no small part down to my being there and offering advice to the players from the sideline! - so just be thankful for my neighbours apathy.

Jack, I have been the boards self appointed agent provocateur for nearly 15 years, most people and most mods seem to get that and look through the hyperbole. I'm not moaning as no one asked me to do it and a few on here don't want their cosy little world shaken and tend to miss the point. Sometimes the hyperbole is required IMHO to stimulate a debate that IMHO isn't happening but should be.

So to spell it out my latest concerns are:

1: People being vilified for even the slightest criticism of the club and then those slapping them down setting themselves up on a moral pedestal - see Big lads mates post for that attitude.

2: On a more serious note I really do think the club only pays lip service to fans at the moment. Con man though Glover was he did bring a certain glitz with him. Now I don't expect Carter to match Glover for presentation and flair but the limited offer for £10 was a poor one IMHO. It's typical of the way things are over complicated these days and how a good and generous offer ends up looking a bit dodgy - it's not the first time this mistake has been made nor are we the first club to do it. I honestly believe had we gone for a flat rate more would have come and the revenue would have been similar. Thus season ticket holders can't moan because they already have discounted tickets, all paying fans have paid the same, away fans are not ripped off and leave with a happy memory. Is that so unreasonable Jack.

3: The cheerleaders and I expect bucket loads of abuse for this - but - it's embarrassing now. Either have the real deal or have nothing. I like the young kids having some fun that's not the issue, let them have their dance on the pitch - no problem. What is the issue is that they are taking an extra roll that is beyond them and should be filled by a pro or semi-pro outfit. Like it or not that is what's expected these days so are we SL or not. It makes us look cheap and amateurish compared to other SL clubs not least Cas. If we can't afford them fine, but don't fob us off with a bunch of kids please it makes us look very championship or maybe not even that good to be fair on them.
NOTE: I write this on the assumption the above is still the case.

What are people's thoughts on having a category-based pricing policy for tickets similar to that of football.

I.e Category A (games against the big 5), Category B (games against traditionally mid-table sides) Category C (games against traditonally lower tabled sides). The pricing would differ based on the opposition. So say 22 pound against Wigan, Leeds, Sts, Huddersfield, warrington, cas (derby game). 18 pound against hull kr, hull fc, catalan, salford, 14 pound v london, salford, bradford e.t.c

I have to agree with those three points. It does seem that if you criticise the club you are seen as some kind of pariah. Constructive criticism is good and should be used as a way to improve matters, it doesn't mean anyone is 'anti-club'. Something else which is starting to bug me is the sly digs from our chairman on twitter in regards anyone who might be critical. People pay their money they are entitled to their opinions whether the club likes them or not and it's really not wise to have a pop at the customers. If one person takes their bat home then it's revenue lost and i doubt the club can afford that to happen. Someone in his position should probably keep his own counsel when in the public eye, don't give anyone an excuse to take umbrage with anything said.

As for the cheerleaders then i'm sure the girls are trying their best but it is pretty poor and doesn't do us or them any favours. Either do it properly or don't bother at all.

So some more contructive criticism. Is it really beyond the wit of man to get a pa system in the north stand that actually works? Is this not a health & safety requirement anyway? And a working clock so we have at very least a guide as to how long is left even if it is not the offical one. I know we are not rolling in cash but a couple of simple things like this makes quite a signifcant difference.

I still remember the day I was relaxing after a match in the bar behind the posts when a number of cheerleaders and parents marched up to me and said 'You are Vastman aren't you ?' ... they didn't worry me but the gallows they were carrying was a bit spooky
