One thing we will have to improve on Friday is our kick chase.
Siejka was pretty good with his kicking but we gave them too much time to return. Widnes will be good in this area.
One of the reasons we did so well against Hull was, with a man off, it gave us more room to move. We didn't have Ali, Collis and Tautai to make the gap so it was hard for us at first. We were however organised in defense. So when the space was provided we could take advantage where Hull couldn't.
So on Friday, keeping them pinned back is going to be important so we can attack from their half and use the kicking game to two wingers who can catch and two very tall centres.
I do think we can win, but we need to up our game further from Hull to do it.

I agree with not changing a winning team. But when we're talking about arguably our 3 most effective strike players (Collis, Ali, TT), then i think we need to make room when they're available.

doubt Ali would be back for some two month but yes if he's available then needs must

Haven't seen the 'actual' game till now ( highlights ). Reading the thread 'Hull' I thought Wakey had beaten Hull KR....don't mind me I get horribly out of touch when things get busy with the NZ Warriors.

Kevin Lockes departure has taken up a lot of my time and discussing with people other signings....all irrelevant to this thread.

That was a good performance....i think all the Biff in the game will help knit the team together as a group. Fightings not very smart but it serves a bonding purpose in a team sport.

Key is always to not go looknig for it.

And Featherstone, Leigh, Halifax and Cumbria, London, Paris, Crusaders...prime examples of the negatives

Quite important we get a win tonight so we can go into the Cas game on a roll. I'm fancying us tonight, Widnes have a few injuries like ourselves. Haven't seen them play this season, but they appear to be punching above their weight looking at the table.

I share your hope Jizzer but I feel we are strong under dogs for this tie. Whilst Widnes have never beaten us since their return I think they are now the best they've ever been in those 3 years. They have good form, a squad who know each other. They are also at home which is something that tends to work in their favour.

Whilst both squads are below full strength I worry they'll have too much for us.

I'll be driving across tonight (hoping to arrive in plenty of time). I hope our boys can do it. A decent performance from us is all I ask, a victory makes for a great weekend.

Everyone's been bigging Cas up but Widnes have quietly gone about their season and are just 2pts behind Cas with 2 games in hand.

It will be a very tough game and we're not favourites

Can't get there tonight I am working but hoping we can back up after last week. It will be tough but why shouldn't we beat them? They're having a good season and good luck to them but on our day we can beat anyone. I want to see consistency now instead of hoping for a good performance. They still frustrate the hell out of me but I want us to give it our best shot for the whole 80. A win would be absolutely fantastic.

Thanks much appreciated Coco.....after embarrassing myself with posting last weeks win over HKR was a good one ( very poor form ) I took a nap in preparation for listening to this one in the middle of the night....might get the right teams this time then !

With Hanbury out, the kicking from Siejka will be even more important.
We need to put the full back under pressure (Owen?) and keep them in their own half.

Brown is clearly having a great season and to have a chance we need to keep him under control.

Amazing the positivity 1 win can give.
