Or just we wanted to sign him but we can't afford it. Stop trying to read something into it that isn't there, hes been with the club over a year, he hardly needed an extended trial to show what he could or couldn't do. Agar wanted him, we are skint, end of story.

Nah I reckon they've kept hold until they were fairly confident a preferred alternative is set to arrive, otherwise it doesn't make sense. Maybe he hasn't pulled up any tree's with the scant opportunities he's had, but I would guess he's one of the better options at half currently at the club. Wildie seems more suited to the hooking role, Sykes is the best option at 6 but he is a make shift half back who's 33 and starting to pick up injuries and Godinet may not be here for the start of the season.

How do you infer from that statement that he's been 'strung along?'

I tend to agree, I think the club/RA have strung him along, why else would you play the kid when he wasn't getting paid by us? Keep him match fit, play him in pre season friendlies then let him go as H Seiejka(sp) puts in for his Polish passport.

| Godinet response to getting VISA....@connorgrace1 hopefully by the end of the week....
Siejka response to polish passport application...@officialgazb yea passport should be done within the next 2 weeks....
@charlyrunc hey mate knees sweet should be right to play in a couple of weeks !! I'm heading over to england just waiting on a passport
Hopefully Anderson, Godinet, and Ryan will be wearing the red, white and blue of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats v Salford in the next couple if weeks!
Think Siejka may be the end of Feb by the time he arrives which is probably conditional on him getting a polish passport...

| I think you can forget about any of them playing against Salford. Even if they arrived tomorrow they'll still be miles behind the rest of the squad especially a half back.
Round 3 is probably the earliest you can expect any of them to take part in.

| If Godinet, Anderson & Ryan are over this week I think they'll be playing a part in the 17 earlier than Round 3.
Tautai played last year v Cas after just getting off the plane from Aus literally and was man of the match!
If they don't get over this week then I think we'll have to go with Sykes at 6 and Wildie at 7 with McShane at 9 and Washbrook coming off the bench to cover at 9 in the second half. McShane unlike Aiton is not a 80 minute hooker.

| When has Washbrook ever played for us at hooker? Why would anyone play him at hooker? Why play Wildie at 7 where he is hopelessly ineffective when you can have him play interchange hooker and get involved in the game around the middle like he did today. We have an abundance of back rowers who could happily fill in at 13. Thought Washbrook and Sykes went well together today. Far better than Sykes and Wildie have

Who is going to replace Mcshane after about 60 minutes? If it is Wildie from the bench then who would you play at scrum half now we have let Goulding go? The imports won't be here.
Washbrook has played hooker for a couple of games last season as well as previously for Hull and I'd prefer him there more than stand off.

Behind Aiton he was our top tackler last season and so would keep us defensively solid around the ruck area. Trout can play 13.

| I really hope we don't go back down the line of Washbrook as a stand off with Sykes as scrum half because of a reasonable showing against Hunslet?
Against Leeds Rhinos on Boxing Day I thought Wildie played well and he was playing stand off that day I think whilst Mcshane was at hooker. I think our creativity against Super League opposition will be stifled as it was last season when Washbrook covered at 6 and looked lost.
It'll be interesting to see who will be partnering Sykes for the first few games....

| they'll need to hit the ground running, no doubt about that. They're decent signings but they may as well be immortals when they're 12000 miles away waiting for visas.
your pre-season games have very little relevancee when your key players haven't played in any of them.
I was sat in the working mens' club in altofts last night on about it, everything about the last 4 years for you lads is such a bloody shame. Things keep landing on the same old clubs and other clubs seem to come out the crap smelling of roses
This part is O/T so I apologise in advance... I've heard the membership sales for the Niel Fox suite (if that's what it's called) aren't going very well (just made double figures out of 100 tickets) - would it not have made more sense to offer these cheaper to start with to see what interest there was? I know a party of five who've paid £80 apiece and thy make up half of the numbers, so they say.
Dunno whether the club have advertised this very wellif at all, I thought there'd have been a bigger uptake than that

I believe so, might be included in the platinum one though. Not enough people have bought season tickets so the club are looking to boost revenue in additional areas.

| Well I thought I'd keep schtum since I led to the cause of MC having his office door blown off
but if you really want me to be controversial...
apparently (key word) Wakefield are looking to develop BV in light of what I informed you of at the start of January. The stadium not being compliant with H&S was brought to light following a survey that was carried out by request of WTW in order to obtain (I dunno, relevant certificates or something?) necessary to develop BV further.
I know they've had a new long stand priced up and were looking at the feasibility of this being built, but it's pretty costly (I've heard between 3m and 5m)
The guy telling us this has been poo-pooed by most people he's spoken to but I've absolutely no doubt of his credibility. I know that doesn't mean much on here, but as far as Wakefield fans go he's right up there as a pure-bred and wouldn't say it without being adamant. That being said, he also doesn't WANT the move to Newmarket
