| Oh Agent XIII. You baffle me sometimes
I can't believe this is such a big issue. I'm ok that you not seeing good in everything but that doesn't mean you have to see bad in everything.
3.30 kick off was nothing to do with Wakefield Trinity. As you say yourself it's only since the late seventies that clubs have played at 3.30. It was a marketing ploy by the RL at the time, David Howes in particular that decided it would be good to have Sunday 3.30 as the Rugby League Hour.
Other clubs have moved away from that already.
We have also played games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening.
Why you feel you should be consulted is between you and your psychiatrist but I can't see it being a big deal either way. I always felt 3.30 was a bit late anyway.

| Unfortunately I did buy a season ticket because I could have made 3.30 KO. I work sundays and dont finish till half 2 and have to travel from Leeds. If id have known this I wouldnt have bought a season ticket. So I dont really know where that leaves me know? 200 quid I could have spent going to away games that know I dont have. You can call me negative but the club shouldnt really do this without prior notice to the fans.

| It's a thumbs up from me for the change. I work every Sunday night so that extra half an hour not having to rush around is a big help to me.

| Whilst in the larger scheme of things it doesn't really matter i have to ask what is the point in changing? At a time when many fans are feeling disillusioned with the club why give them one more reason, no matter how minor it is perceived by some, for them to stay away? And surely having them into the ground longer pre-match is better given we have brought the catering back in house anyway? Will it effect me? No probably not but like it or not many people are creatures of habit and won't like the change. It just seems a pointless exercise to me.

I'd suggest anyone who now can't make games because of the chance contact the club. They maybe refunds or downgraded memberships available to help you out.

As you can see from the rest of the posts most seem to be positive but there are always the odd casualty and you have my sympathy because i too would be gutted.
In defence of the club they do only appear to be in line with every other club in Sl by kicking off at 3.00pm and had they of consulted im sure the majority would have been in favour/not bothered.
Can you not have a word with your boss and colleagues to see if on those sundays we are at home, you can sneak off 15 minutes early, maybe suggest going in early to compensate (i'm guessing as i have no idea what you do mate).

Or if enough people are sufficiently affected they may revert back to 1530 kick offs.

| I can only count 7 home 3pm Sunday games anyway, so not the greatest issue, although I wonder at the change. It will affect some people, and give some people the chance to moan, whereas no one can moan at the status quo.
For me, not bothered either way.

Slugger - thats over half the games of the season ticket. It would have made no financial sense to purchase if someone cant make 3pm.

You put your hand up and bought in when MC made a rallying call to fans and I know its a big commitment financially for you.
Well done for doing that but it seems this latest decision throws that back at you.

I disagree, most seem not bothered either way, which is different from positive. There are three groups here, the not bothered,in favour and not in favour.
How do you come to the conclusion we are falling in line with every other super league club by kicking off at 3pm?
Cas - 3.30pm Sunday
London 3.00pm Saturday
Catalans 6.00pm Saturday
Leeds/Hull/Wigan - 8pm Friday
The club should have considered the opinions of the in favour and not in favour.

That's not being negative. That is a valid reason to question the move.
Others don't have the reasoning that you have
I'd call the club if I were you and see what they can do

| I'm ceratinly in the not bothered group and I get the point about that no being the same as positive.
I'd like to know the reasoning behind it as I assume they see a positive from their side.
If they did it for the fans then yes they would have been better asking, but if they did it for other reasons then they is the positive group.
Could be easier for catering as I did think it was a bit late to sit down for dinner and at the times they had, and you still hung around for a bit
Could be a request from other clubs
Could even by saving ink as 3pm is less than 3.30pm.....it all counts.

Lighting is probably a big factor. I guess the flood lights will be on for half an hour less.

On the subject as a wholemost people buy their STs without having a scooby doo how many Sunday, Monday, Friday or Saturday fixtures we are going to be dished out with on fixture day and thats before fixtures get messed around with by Sky, SL and the weather.
Its pretty much the nature of the game these days.

That is ceratinly an accountants decision if it is.
They must be quite a cost to be honest........not even including replacing the bulbs that have blown.
But equally, there are only a couple of home games at 3.00 before the Sunday afternoons are light again so still not sure on reasoning

1600 season ticket holders would say not, still that's the price you pay for picking up the phone when MC asked you to.

| Other than the odd individual who can't make this time for various reasons - it's basically irrelevant. For everyone who can't make it because of work will possibly have somebody to balance it who can now make it - but to be fair those who have bought season tickets on the strength of it being a 3:30pm KO and can no longer make it should be entitled to some comeback from the club. Can't see this being a great many people though to be honest.
Was it 3:30pm at us and Cas because of the change over in shifts down't pit?

I havent seen one comment as yet that says "great i can attend more games" with a 3pm kick off,but we are seeing comments from people that can attend less games because of a 3pm kick off.
I bought my ticket based on roughly half the games would be played on a Sunday at 3.30pm,not 3pm.
Its much easier to retain an existing customer than it is to go out and find a new one, with this in mind for every customer Wakefield lose due to changing to 3pm - i dont believe they will replace them.
The club should have at least attempted to gauge an opinion, they havent,i feel let down. The least a supporter should have expected was to be aware of the facts and anticipated kick off times before they invested in a season ticket.

| When I purchased my season ticket it didn't say every home game would be Sunday at 3:30. Imaging if we had done what Leeds and a lot of other clubs have done and moved from Sunday afternoon to Fri nights ( which I think we should do) some on here would be having an heart attack with excitement of a good moan. 3pm Sun kick off let's get on board.

| Sorry, not reading through 5 pages of debate about shifting from 3:30 to 3:00 kick offs.
I'll just add, I'm a 40 year veteran, a traditionalist and it's not an issue for me, I can see it being a hit with away fans who have some distance to travel though and it brings us into line with other clubs, media etc

But there are people who will benefit i.e it will be better for, however i know thats not the same.
I feel like im being cornered into defending something that for some (i'm assuming you?) clearly is not a benefit, that wasn't/isn't my intention.
I (individualy) dont have a problem with it, for me it gets me out half an hour earlier and home half an hour earlier and I'm sure in the main that is the same for most (i'm guessing i haven't asked everyone) so if this decision was put out to consensus im pretty sure it would still have been passed.
If that means you (or anyone) cannot go now, i think you have every right to contact the club and air your grievence.
Just that for most (again, im guessing) it isn't a big deal in the great scheme of where we are and what we have been through.
