| Have to admit i don't like the segregation one bit. Found it lessened my enjoyment of the game and is one more reason why i am rapidly falling out of love with the game.

| If folk want to stand "anywhere", just arrive in civvies, and stand where you like.
I've yet to hear anyone come out and say that they favour segregation. However, as the club (and others) have pointed out, away fans usually have their own area at other grounds, with the exception of Warrington and KR, so why the tantrums ?
Also, for any wavering home fans who don't want to renew their S/T for one reason or another,
you need to think long and hard about whether you want to watch Wakefield at all.
It's imperative that we compete next season and the fewer people that renew their memberships, the leaner the squad we will have on the field.
If you want us to compete, buy your S/T NOW, please.

Ha ha. Good point.
I have stood and sat in pretty much every part of the ground at some stage.
The only bit I've never really taken to is the centre point on the Western Terrace. Probably just because in a crowd it's hard to ee the corners.
But there have been plenty of times when it gets a little tense with away supports.
I've had plenty of arguements but nothing physical, but that's partly because you can see that kind of crowd a mile away.
We have a bunch at the self proclaimed chavs corner, and now in the north stand. They are vocal and feisty sometimes but it's only an issue if you put them next to the opposition idiots too.
If it was my job to control that, I'd rather I knew where they were.
When the idiots ran down from the North Stand they should have been stopped on the way. There was no reason to do what they did unless they wanted trouble.
The problem with all that is that it costs us money.
Kepping them apart costs security money
Letting them do their own thing costs us fines with RFL
Can't win.

| Not fussed either way about segrgation, being a football fan as well I am more than used to it so dont really see an issue with it my self but can see why some would be upset.
One thing it has done is improve the atmosphere at Belle Vue and that is deffo a positive.

| Quote ="BogBrushHead"As an away supporter who was, for the first time I can remember at Wakey, segregated and treated like some sort of leper, I shall not be visiting your ground again until they stop this stupidity. I've always stood happily mingled with the home fans, and until this year, never seen any trouble. This year, fans were segregated, and some idiots kicked off.
Treat people like animals and you'll find they react like animals .......
Footnote: Cas did something similar (apparently because of trouble they'd had with Trinity/KR fans the 2 games previous), but it was not as rigidly applied. The stewards 'advised' Wire fans to not stand in the 'home end' .... but didn't actually stop anyone ..... and there was no trouble either in the ground or in the local pubs afterwards.
Something tells me you lot need the money that 1500-2000 Wire/Saints/Leeds/Wigan fans bring in .... so it's a bit stupid to treat us like we're not welcome?'"
when I have been to Warrington I go in the away end? Same at widnes, Wigan, Leeds, hull kr, Hull etc etc what's the difference?

What you're really saying is "I want to stand in clowns' corner, where the rest of my mates stand". I'm right, aren't I? 'Cos otherwise, west or east, your view is across the ground, and makes little difference, unless you have some "left-right" thing going on as well.

| Always stood on the North terrace rain or shine so segregation hasn't directly affected me. Since segregation was introduced the atmosphere in the North stand certainly has improved, to the height of the players making a point of it in the press. However, I don't necessarily agree with it. We have had trouble on a more extreme scale (Widnes game) with segregation in place and it seems to have escalated the 'us versus them' culture within some 'fans'. The Cas game felt like it could kick off at any time, you could feel the tension building every time the lead changed hands but it didn't because of the huge gulf created between the two sets of fans. On this occasion segregation worked but it also poses another question; can we really afford to have an empty corner of the ground?

| Ive been attending 40 years at Belle vue and seen more trouble in the last 15 months since the roof went up, the stupid Wakey Cas 'This City is ours' build up that our club mismanagement pushed, then in all the years bfore ...in fact Ive never seen trouble till now. It's like saying 'don't think of pink elephants'. Once you say we need segregation, then there is a perception of a problem. Also, some Wakefield fans wanted this 'it's our stand' nonsense from what I read on here. ..to create a home atmosphere. Cheap booze and bottles flying aound another problem. Beer in seated areas is one thing, on 70's terraces its another. I don't think we can carry on with that. We should concentrate beer sales around Cats bar. Get more staff on in there. Maybe a marquee in the car park or something. Have a drink there but not on the terraces.

£3 for a pint or even more for a bottle is a long way from cheap, unless folk are getting lashed before coming to the match.

| A few people are suggesting that the away fans move to the Paddock. As a season ticket holder in the seats I think this is a shocking idea. My seat is fixed. I've paid a higher price than people standing. I don't want to feel as though I'm at an away match every week by only hearing away fans. I want a home atmosphere and be able to hear our home fans whilst we are at home.
Please Daddy Cool Don't penalise us season ticket holders who are loyal to the club.
I know a lot of people don't like segregation but it looks like it is here to stay.

And the East stand paddock is where the junior teams, junior cheerleaders and their families congregate.

Hello there "shifty cat". Yes I have been a season ticket holder for 11 years and not once have I heard of clowns corner nor have I read of it on here until now. But in reply to the poster not referring to him as a clown then why would it have such a name? Are children who go to school not school children? The clique on here say things which are always brushed to one side and if outsiders like myself challenge something then it is jumped upon by the likes of yourself and you try to muscle us out. All I am saying is think before you post. I joined this site after being a regular reader for the last 12 months and what a great welcoming I have received. I do not wish to continue in a childish manner because there will only be one winner as I pointed out in my previous post. Feel free to PM me though.

Should've gone to Specsavers!!!
Its been clown corner for years, in the ground, on here everywhere.
The issue with this is that as pointed out above where ever you want to push away fans, somebody has been standing there since they were a kid etc...
Its a no win situation, people need to accept it and stop being obstructive.
We dont want another fine so we are towing the RFL line as well we should.

You do make a good point. It does take a while to catch up on the "in jokes" from those that post as a full time occupation on here. I was the same when I started posting rather than watching.
I really don't think the post was meant to offend. I've labelled that corner the same myself in a post, as it seemed to be well known and an easy description.
I can also say I've stood with those guys too so I include myself. It's a lot of fun. Not all clowns though, some are just supports and even families that like that view of the ground, some like it because you could get to the beer easily or before the bottle bar, could get out to Agbrigg Road quicker.
But it has it's name because they are vocal and unfortunately when things got fiesty, it usually got fiesty down there.
That has changed now so could easily lose it's name.
