Call me wrong but Smith is Australian and will stay on the quota. We are not questioning that you have signed him but the fact that some Salford supporters assume he is exempt giving you an additional spot. We are not in the position Crusaders were and therefore assuming our publicised money problems are the same is wrong. If you had an exemption I am sure the RFL would need to declare it rather than give Salford exclusive rights. If they had then we could question if we got the best deal because other clubs were disadvantaged thinking they would be signing a quota player.

Not sure about this but didn't clubs have to vote to decide that players would be given dispensation at crusaders. More than likely this would be the case and doubt they would just hand Salford a unfair advantage just like that. Salford and and the DR along with the RFL are going to make a mockery of our sport. Who actually wants to watch their team that contains mostly imports and a journey man and one that may spend a bit of time in front of the panel from time to time?

Latest is that hodgson at wolves has been released. If he goes to Salford something really dodgy is happening. This could add a few hundred to Salfords gates but may drive supporters of other clubs away as no one want to watch a sport were rules are different from one club to another.

The Doc has probably painted a bullseye on the Devils for next season and most teams will go extra fired up.

No problem whatsoever with Salford. If successful it will be good to see another team up there in the mix. Dont think they are doing anything that other clubs havent done in the past, just maybe a bit more vocal/honest about it.

Also the originally poster supercat, grow up. Why would the RFL hand Salford an unfair advantage? All clubs are permitted to play to the same rules. They fined us £10k for christ sake when we fielded 14 players for 30 seconds against Castleford earlier in the season, this was then reduced to £5k but with the deduction of the 2 points. If the RFL were really giving Salford an unfair advantage we wouldnt have been punished so harshly.

I have to agree with this, a couple of gobby Salford fans are turning decent Trin fans into Salford haters.

I assume red league was one of the fans in the shed booing his team at every opportunity in their old ground.

It is ridiculous to rubbish a club because of the views of a tiny minority on here, much as I have little time for those who find reasons not to attend matches at this club or that club (unless it's financial).

Just support your own club / team - whenever / wherever you can and enjoy the sport!

just to let you guys know i was at the relaunch day along with many others and it was quoted we had spent around "400,000" on the cap last year which left pretty much a full cap to spend this year. Also quoted we hadn't gone over the overseas limit either, or that he was paying any wives to be cleaners. Id imagine that the clubs will know about what the plans are for the restructure and overseas players quota ect , well thats my thought

If you believe that you could put even half a team out for that money then you're exceptionally deluded. I know you probably didn't spend anywhere near the cap but to think you could put a squad together (however weak it was) on £400,000 is pure fantasy

The salary cap im sure is based on your 25 top paid players - If what your saying is correct then the average wage would of been around £16,000 a year ? Im sorry i just cant bring myself to belive that, infact i cant bring myself to belive a word that comes out of the doctors mouth.
