"Following concerns that a bulb in one of the floodlights above the Princess Street Stand was on fire, the Club acted swiftly on the advice of the Fire Service to evacuate the stand and allow them to inspect the floodlight in question. Upon inspection the Fire Service said that it was not on fire. "

They should really do more work with the community to prepare them for seeing electrical lighting for the first time. "It's witchcraft I tell yea, run for your lives"

That is how I see it too unfortunately. The club has given up SL allready IMO. Rumours also doing the rounds are London have played their last game at the Stoop and are accepting their fate (like Cas Tigers) on life outside SL.

All in all a great days work by the lads and the bonus of an extra 7 mins additional recovery time for Monday!

Just wonder who will play fullback if gronk decides to make a citizens arrest on mathers, making him unavailable.

Mind you t'lad has a lot on this weekend, what with building a case to dismiss millward without a pay off due to gross misconduct for lying about being a qualified coach at an acceptable sl level!

Wheldon Road was already dark and gloomy(even with the floodlights on), both in goal areas were in darkness because of the inadequate floodlighting.
It's becoming quite a depressing ground.
The irony with the "Wish" advertising all around the top of the stands does make you chuckle.
Maybe if they wish a little bit harder they may actually win another SL game

It was a strange atmosphere right from the outset - Cas fans seemed subdued and their cries of foul play at every touch and turn would have put the Odsal whingers to shame; the victim mentality appears to have taken hold. I also thought that the stadium itself looked even more neglected and run down than usual - typified by the debacle at the end, when we lost the opportunity to rack up a few more scores, thanks to a non-fire.

A strange evening and possibly Millward's last game in charge; if we beat Hull on Monday, we could earn the distinction of having seen off two head coaches in one weekend.

Heard a rumour today that the reason Ferres resigned was because he presented the board with a list of H&S concerns which he said he was ultimately responsible for as Chief Exec.
The board refused to back him on geting these things resolved so he walked.

I have no idea how true this is but have little reason to not believe the person who told me.

He was half-cut, and was walking back home to house in Cas where he lives, but was a very happy bunny !!!!

So the floodlight bulb was supposedly on fire ? Why at least 2 fire engines, at least 10 police cars plus more emergency cars on the way plus a chopper buzzing around. A bit of an extreme over-reaction caused by a faulty bulb ? #headscratcher

Look players leave , I used to love good natured joshing the same way it used to flow between boards on here but then someone wassed in the feeder tank and a nasty bitter taste exists on all sides of supporters fences , nobody is exempt.

Been to work this morning and been told that the message the police received was that the stadium was on fire and 8,000 people had to be evacuated, so all staff from the Operations Support Unit (Roads Policing, Firearms, Dogs, Helicopter, Knuckle-Draggers (Sorry - "Task Force" as they used to be known), were instructed to attend asap to assist with the evacuation !!!!!

Fortunately one of the first officers on scene was quickly put in the picture, so cancelled most other units before they got anywhere near.

Back then id of deletdd my post and banned you for mentoring mr harbin , but as you mention moderators ain't the same any more.
Then again I seem to recall some ex coaching staff being banned.
