| After much deliberation this is my conclusion.
Someone when this fixture came out didn't realise England were playing San Marino, and they had rearranged the fixture for a Friday, whether you like football or not it would have an impact on our gate, I know two of our motley crew were gonna miss the Wakey game because of it. Lower gate than hoped for! Then along comes the snow, another impact on the game, Leeds fans not as likely to travel, Wakey fans as well would in all possibility given it a miss (St Helen's attendance last night 5,000) so it was the "perfect storm" rugby wise, lower crowd because of the football and even lower because of the weather, AG and JE saw there chance, game off, better chance of a good attendance on Sunday with no outside distraction!
And there resteth the case for the prosecution your honour!

I too hold a season ticket for football and can honestly tell you I never saw a ball kicked in the England game on TV as the opposition,as the score dictates, put up as much of a game as Hall Green reserves.I also didn't want to watch a top flight rugby game in last nights conditions, correct call for me all round.

Ahh well, if you'd said that - that it was for your (only) 2 football following mates - then I'd have understood!
Let me have their names and I'll send the boys round! Stopping me spending an hour getting home from a game 3 miles away which I didn't see the end of and rarely saw the actual ball being played, whilst enjoying the pantomime of people slipping and breaking their backs on the snow. I don't know how they could be so unreasonable - honest!

| Quote Wakefield boss Richard Agar admitted the postponement was a “pain in the bum”, but said it couldn’t be helped.
“We’d prepared to play and we wanted to get it played,” he said.
“Friday was a great day for it and it gave us a couple of extra days’ recuperation with Easter coming up. But the decision made was about safety and I’m sure the people who made it made the right one.”
Agar said injured trio Tim Smith, Andy Raleigh and Danny Kirmond have an outside chance” of being fit.'"
In there is the real reason the game got postponed, pick whichever reason makes you happy!

| 4pm definitely isn't too late to call a game off, I've turned up at Headingley before at 19:15 for it to be called off. Last night I left my house in Garforth, to get to Leeds city centre by car at 21:15 for work, got there no problem, a did everyone else. I still think had the game gone ahead you'd have got a sizeable crowd. Seemed an odd 1 to call if off last night and I I were Wakefield, i'd be wanting it called off tomorrow.

| I once caught 4 buses to get from Hill Top in Knottingley to Arena 84 for a match against Huddersfield Barracudas. I arrived at the ground at 6.45 on a cold and dark winters night only to be told they'd called it off because the pitch was frozen, no one at Wakefield Trinity thought to get a message to me to let me know. To make matters worse I'd started work that morning at 5.30am, I was docked 2 hours pay for leaving early to get to the game and I had no money on me to get home as I was expecting to go back on the team coach.
Aaah the memories,,,,,,,
