I've said this for the last few games the passes from ellis at dummy half are far superior that the passes from aiton, but aiton isnt a hooke he is a loose forward. Its how to accomodate Ellis, Aiton and wood all in the same team!!

To be fair to Wellens (much as it pains me ) he did'nt run straight off, he was the first Stains player to go to his own fans to applaud them ( well the ones that were left )
Poor performance from Wellens today, Cummings will be having a word on Monday and dropping him down to the Championship for a couple of games.

| Andy Ellis has been outstanding since coming in....his distribution is first class....the speed and accuracy with which he finds Tim Smith is superb....it gives Smith those vital extra few seconds to work his magic and us as a team are benefitting hugely from it.....
Like with any winning team playing with confidence it creates a great competition for places throughout the squad and that's exactly what we're seeing now.....Mariano is another recently into the side who is playing superb.....Cowling today was outstanding too and didn't look out of place......as long as we can keep that competition for places healthy it will only be a good thing......
Today was as good as it gets for me.....we played an excellent team in Saints and played them at their own game, and although tight in the end I think it would have been a travesty had we not won the game.....overall, I thought we were very worthy winners.....there were one or two real poor decisions that went both ways, but I feel the best team on the day won in the end.....
Slightly disappointed with the attendance....it should have been 10k plus with the way we are playing and the results we have been getting.......
Hats off to all 17 today....impossible to single any one player out for me.....as good a 17 man performance as I think i've seen from us.......onwards and upwards!!

Yep its a terrible problem to have Aiton could play 13 but Washy is doing a fine job, PROP?

Frustrating thing was the amount of poor decisions in the game. Most of them were against wakefield aswell. Like the one when the saints player elbowed ben cockayne in the face he pushed him back and saints get the penalty. Josh Perry was bringing knee up into people's faces as they were going down totally uncalled for!

Can wood play 6?? Move sykes out to help fox where the tries seem to be coming every week and have aiton/ellis to interchange as hookers
Just a thought

Alibert was shocking for both sides, to say he kept us in the game is an absolute joke. The try Meli scored did look forward, but we had one pulled back for a forward pass that wasnt so evens it out there, one or two other bad calls but again I thought he was poor across the board.
Find it a bit sad that Wakey fans have seen their team deservedly win with a good performance and were the better team for the majority of the game, yet rather than talking about Cockayne's line breaks or Sykes controlling the play they would rather talk about Paul Wellens and the referee...wonder if those posters are the senile old blokes who blamed me personally and found me to be a disgrace to rugby league because Wellens spoke to the referee??
Back on topic, thought Saints were poor today and put way too much ball to ground and Wakefield took their chances well and deserved to win the game in the end, well done on a good display and good luck pushing for the top 8

| Thought Cowling was awesome - some great tackles and always first to drop on the ball in the latter part of the second half.
Showed great fitness. Looks good in the centres - totally outclassed Shenton.

| Fantastic performance today especially from the pack. I mentioned a few weeks back that I thought Ellis was the catalyst thats got the forwards performing better.
However watching foxy everyweek dosn't do the old ticker much good

| Ellis v Aiton?
Who cares, there is little chance both players and Wood will make it through next season without injury or lack of form. It's nice to have the option. In fairness to Aiton a number of players have upped their games so I reckon he'd find it easy enough to step back in and thrive.
Have not forgotten Wood, but it's to be hoped now that like Ellis Aiton won't be expected to play a full game anymore.
It's not a worry IMHO.

It's never a worry when players are fighting for positions in the side and all are playing well...
It's not just the hooking slot either....players are coming in across the board and putting their hands up to claim a spot in the 17 every week.....
Fantastic position for Agar to be in and it's showing in the teams performances......
Great to see the homegrown youngsters coming in and doing well too.....Cowling did very well today and the likes of Walshaw, Trout etc are being blooded in very nicely (these the lads who were outstanding in the academy championship winning team, and there's a few more I reckon)......the next 12 months could be the start of something very special for us...!

| "Just remember that if you're not working at your game to the utmost of your ability, there will be someone out there somewhere with equal ability who is. And one day you'll play each other, and he'll have the advantage."
That is what happened today and Wakefield Trinity Wildcats were the better team 1-17 not St.Helens! (And were against Leeds, Castleford, Huddersfield). Well done to the squad and well done Richard Agar! You are not whipping boys

7 1/2k. Brilliant day and I'm starting my slice of Richard Agar's home made humble pie. Something has changed in the side and it's hard to understand why but more please!!

| We were the better side and for me, the score line flatters Saints quite considerably; Mr Alibert's utter incompetence gifted them two tries to save their blushes.
I was a bit embarrassed for Wellens - his coach really needs to have a word.

I could not believe that wellens went unpunished for getting in the face of the touch job, jabbing his finger at him and giving him a right mouthful. He should have been in the bin for 10 mins for dissent
