| This is great news in terms of, if Guilfoyle accepts, it buys some time and helps them to see out the season. The press release implies that the club would then be sold onto a suitable buyer.
There is no statement what so ever about the future league for the club. Whether it be Super League or lower is not indicated.
I would imagine that if SL did buy the Bulls they would put in an independent CEO who could oversee any player trades etc. Then once back in independent ownership it is back to normal. If, it is a short term solution then great.
I appreciate so people think what about us? We had two potential buyers lined up and Glover completed in relatively quick time without conditions. Bradford has gone on for a long time and they will be bust in a week or two without a credible buyer.
All the questions on fair treatment will have been discussed at Red Hall yesterday and the clubs must be happy with the answers.
Posters above are correct though in this setting a dangerous precedent. With what happened to Blackpool, this can be seen as a disgrace. I'm sure Blackpool's debts were far from on the same scale as Bradford's.
I do wonder though, if all the other Super League clubs are existing creditors of Bradford then they can't afford for Bradford to go bust?
Either way, if a credible new owner (post Super League ownership) comes to light and is deemed fair then they can apply for a licence to be assessed on strong criteria. Otherwise, Championship rugby and build again.

Disgraceful in my opinion the double standards shown
Rugby League is fast becoming the laughing stock of sport, a shambles of a game run by incompetant fools. At this rate the proffessional game will be lucky to last another 10 years.

The MLB have done it twice recently (Texas & LA Dodgers) but that league doesn't have the ridiculous kick teams out for not having a pretty stadium rule every 3 years, so it's totally different, not to mention in a different country.
What I want to know is where has the money come from? If ABC offered 5m, surely SLE would have to match that at least, so where has that come from?

| I cant quite understand why this has been done, even if it ends up being some kind of stop gap until the end of the season.
Why has there been so much determined effort to save Bradford ?
Yes they are a "big" club who prospered in the early days of SL and yes, they have a 10000 strong fanbase but, is this deal about protecting a club, an iconic ground, completing a seasons fixtures (without the embarrassment of wiping out a teams results, or is this to protect the RFL's investment in a lease for a hole in the ground.
This is mind-blowing and my head is hurting just trying to reconcile what has been agreed.

It shouldn't matter if your Blackpool, Bramley or Bradford, in essence I support helping them all (within limits) but there has to be a greater sense of parity to the help we give- no matter who you are. Rather than this too big to fail crap.
All I'm saying is that SHOULD Salford go belly up we better be prepared to buy a club with a lease they can't afford to pay.'"
All these clubs and a few more that are not around ,or not now around at top level, all chipped in to help resurrect this cinderella club that is most famous for going bust.Just look at the player Trinity let them have in 1964 Ian Brooke for one springs to mind.I just dont know how the keep getting away with it

| An utter disgrace.
No club is bigger than the game,
How can any other club be now left to fend for themselves if they are in difficulty?
Are Salford the next club to be purchased ?
Complete shambles.

In all seriousness, this is bizarre.

| Absolute disgrace and shows what a corrupt set up the RFL and SL are. Is it now an open offer to clubs to spend well above and beyond their means in search of silverware cos depending who you are they will bail you out.
Wouldn't happen to the likes of Wakefield, Cas, Huddersfield, Salford or Widnes to name a few.
Sick to back teeth of the game now, bent from top to bottom!!

| It makes you wonder how much the loss of Bradford would have cost the RFL with all they have done to save them. I'm probably not alone in thinking that that if Bradford Bulls had have gone under, the RFL wouldn't have been far behind.

| Surprising to see some Bull fans on their forum are now turning from elation to despair. Some are asking how are they any better off than before (because they fear they won't be in Super League next year)? For goodness sake they may just be saved from liquidation and will have a club to follow.
Sometimes there is no pleasing some people
For the genuine and respectful fans, for which there are many I am happy for them.

| Buy the Bulls my o my. So Wakefield then why not help us when we were in the mire? they would have let us fall off the radar without a second thought. Sorry for Bradford supporters but they should have let things take their course. Who will they buy next? will they end up owning all the clubs? what a bloody mess.

Makes it more ironic because some of the morons over there, were convinced the RFL wanted rid of them and haven't done a thing to help them, seriously couldn't make it up.

| Well lets spend what we dont have to get silverware make season tickets the price of 3 games and if it goes belly up we will be saved.Oh I forgot dont happen if your Wakey or Widnes and if needed will this be offered to Salford who are near the edge at the moment cant see it some how.It says a lot to a club like Featherstone who are doing everything thats needed to become a team in the top league again or Halifax who like Fev are going about it the right way.Cant see any other thing than Glover and Ferres making it plain that should respective grounds not be ready at next franchise it wont go against them or that they get a bigger percentage of any money that is spread around the clubs or both.

| So the Super League takes on all the debts and liabilities of a loss-making club? Bizarre.
I do wonder if there is a bigger agenda, in that the administrator is trying to off-load the club onto people the RFL don't want involved. This allows the Super League to be in charge of the selling and cuts out the administrator completely. There might be a much bigger picture involved which they cannot go public with.
