John was a lovely man, a gentleman, a great Trinity man , a brilliant after dinner speaker,a top bloke.

This may be especially relevant to Benny the ball.

I've been told there may well be a continuation of the Lindley book in progress being written by someone connected with the club who has already been published. Can't say who it is yet until I get it confirmed.

I know a few people wanted to contribute so if this is the case I will direct anyone interested in the right direction. If not we will carry on trying to formulate a plan.

The Neil Fox rugby league record points scorer was written by Lindley with the help of Terry Kelley.Loads of facts in it season by season and a real good read will have to have a good look through the other stuff I have when I get chance.

There's obviously a lot of interest out there for an updated book. We have all the records going back to 1895 and are compiling records and statistics for the club at present and I believe a book is been written by a supporter, not linked to the club.
Johnny Thompson's benefit brochure was a good history from when he signed (late 1970s) until his benefit in the late 1980s
