As PHe has said, the ground is likely to be named after the biggest corporate sponsor we will now be able to attract, but surely we could name the stands the David Topliss Stand or the Neil Fox Stand or the One Night Sta..............

for all you have done to make sure we have not just a ground but probably a club as well. I said a some time ago there should be a plaque or something to recognise those who have helped make this happen and kept us accurately informed all the way (IA are you reading this?). Without all that has been posted the terrible waiting would not have been tolerable.

Always liked the sound of the Dreadnought Stadium but alas we live in commercial times where its more likely to be called the Bab's Cafe Stadium. Another potential and relevant name could be the Rhubarb Stadium (well it would definitely please one person if no one else).

Wasn't it mentioned at one of the meeting (missed a few of late) that there was a blue chip company in the wings for naming rights?

Not sure, but it would be nice if Coca Cola could get on board, i know they don't get involved with teams individually, but something on this scale might interest them.

Coca cola have been in Wakefield for years and have never been interested in helping out in the past.
I'd give it free for the first year to WYW, there would be no need for a stadium if AG had not come in for us.

I'll have a word.

re: thoughts on naming the Stadium - much as I would love the Dreadnaught, the Fox, the Topliss or even the Coca Cola, as it is a community stadium, albeit one where we are anchor tenants, will it be up to us to give it a name. Surely that'll be in the remit of the Community Trust?

But whatever it's called ........ YIPEEEEEEE! onward and upward!

I'd suggest it be called OUR stadium,it's easy to remember and to say to the taxi driver!

For any saddos who want their own countdownometer:
Using excel (other spreadsheet programs are available)
in Cell A1 type the date you think the first game will be. I chose 15/2/2015
in Cell A2 type =today()
in another cell type =A1-A2
and hey presto!
If the 3rd cell comes up with a date you'll need to format that cell as a number.

It would be interesting to know if there have even been 969 first-team players. Squads are much bigger now and this year's turnover has been exceptional.

Even at an average of 10 new players a year that's over 96 years
