Why - there is nothing special about Bradford, they didn't give a toss about us. Very odd attitude considering how you lambasted Ted and co for doing exactly the same.

| Makes you think the Whitehead situation was solely about bumping up his value on the market.
Burgess will have many suitors but his value decreases every day given his contract runs out at the end of the season.
I real terms a club willing to throw in the region of 50-100k at the Bulls for Burgess I feel would get their man. Not a bad price for a player of his undoubted potential especially if a club could get him on a 5 year deal.

The problem Adrian is that when you love the Club you cannot see the wood for the trees and you want to and indeed believe the bull that is put to you. We've been there and bought the T shirt ourselves.
We had a similar plee for cash (although smaller) and even though I believe it could have been raised we made no real attempt to raise it as all we believed it would do would just postpone the inevitable and therefore for the good of the Club we let it die.
I think the best thing for the Bulls would be Administration. You would like us come out of it stronger with a new Managememt who will take the Club forward. We feared it at the time but Administration and Andrew Glover has been the best thing to happen to Wakefield for 30 years or more. Do not support a Management regime that is clearly failing your Club.
All the best to you and Bulls fans but like others I have no sympathy with your Management. I really hope you survive and come out of this stronger and I have a feeling you will not be the last.

Nothing special about anyone, i choose not to wish the worst for any RL club and especially its supporters, the people that steer them into such troubled waters though, thats a different matter!!
That of course goes for the idiots that cheer lead for such people too!!
So not a very odd attitude at all, i lambasted the captain of the ship not the crew, and i didn't want us to go bust, and i didn't appreciate it when others lumped our supporters and club in with Ted, and wished for our demise.
Simple really.
HTH.

| Don't think anyone has anything but sympathy for their true supporters. Its the people who run their club that I can't stand. They are arrogant and think the game is theirs can't wait to see the back of them.

Why would any club throw 100k at Bradford, tap him up now and wait till they go bust that's how Hudds do it. TBH if they go bust I'll be delighted to see us pick at the carcass - would make a nice change.

Sypathy for all the fans , but non for the Chairman , board etc. They are the ones who have failed the club , the ones who when beat us few seasons ago were heard tpo say good we beat you put you back down where you belong. They are the ones as Jack in Box says have been snapping up junior talent , paying over inflated wages. Live within your means as the salary cap was supposed to promote. I would give money to the Bulls Trust to help run the club and not let it die but not to the current regime in charge there. Somehow Bulls have fallen from the team of razamatazz and big signings and having a massive backroom staff many many more than we have at wakey to a team on the brink. | I'm sorry but I cannot gloat over another club being in this situation. The players and the fans deserve and need the support of the whole RL community at this time. When we were in trouble I remember the angry responses to posters from other clubs who gloated or assessed if they wanted our players and we condemned other clubs for snapping up our players when we entered administration - I think some called them vultures. Then some on here want to do the same to Bradford - two wrongs don't make a right. Look how Tony Smith over at Warrington changed the whole attitude when he said we should have support and loaned us players - his standing went up and everyone else began to feel rather sheepish.
Whether administration is the best in the long run for Bradford I don't know - it worked for us but each situation is different. What I do know is that we were glad of the support we got from other fans so let us do the same for the players and fans of Bradford.
Good luck to you all and I sincerely hope we are playing a competetive Bradford next season.

Yep, they lied.
The fans always pay the ultimate price.
Sadly this in not the 1960's anymore and now it's survival of the fittest.
I'm not gloating but I really find it hard to care about the peoples team any longer, they have had there moment and blown it. They need to start again from the bottom just like we did.

Very incorrect Vastman. There was more than one that donated money to the club when it was needed and a couple of them donated a lot of time and effort to the ST to help them get set up. I personally will be donating some money to Bradford's cause, not for the club but for the fan's.

If you wait till they go bust his contract value shoots up significantly as it will be an open market.
If you could get him on a 5 year deal you would probably be significantly better off with out laying £100k for exclusivity.
Fairly sure that kind of money would narrow the field from 12 to 3 or maybe 4.

| Dosn't seem that long ago we had Bull Power all over our fair City, more people walking around with Bulls shirts than Wakey. Bulls players in our schools and junior clubs trying to undermine everything we were doing. Then there was the Ellis affair, all those players offered and then the deal was renaged, then Solomona where they really short changed us.

| Best thing they can do is go under like we did, yes they will lose all their best players, but so what we did. So it would be nice if we could pick up a prop. Burgess, Scruton, Manuokafoa, Kopczak. Interesting times.

| There problems IMO stem from one thing, clinging on to the belief they were a big club, long after they were not.
They failed to head the old adage; cut your cloth accordingly.
I'm sure they aren't the first and certainly won't be the last.
I blame Noble......... or Agar!!

| This is indeed very sad and worrying news. However the fact that the rumour mill for years has circulated that the Bulls were in financial trouble does ask questions.
With so much time over the years (if the rumours are true) to get the house in order it will be interesting to see what comes out in the wash. Now with such short notice to raise what is undoubtedly a mammoth figure it seems too little, too late.
I really feel for the fans who are now going through the heartache we know only too well. It truly is awful and such significant debts are scary. Whilst a horrible process it may be administration is indeed IMHO the best option. People like Steve Parkin et al will have seen what it did for our club and now we are stronger and have much brighter near time prospects as a result.
The asset stripping (of players) of a club in administration is awful and circling clubs as vultures can create resentment. What Tony Smith did last season and his public comments were highly commendable and I am forever seeing him in a grateful eye because of it. Indeed Leeds, amongst others were helpers to us and how we ended up with Amor, for which we are grateful.
As a supporter of Wakefield I often thought Bradford lost their way once Noble left. Indeed I never thought that they made a big name signing since except for Orford. McNamara I felt did not achieve much and being out of the play-offs for so long is not good for what is undoubtedly a big fish in our pond.
Bradford are like us, a sleeping giant with immense potential. Their discount season tickets have generated crowds frequently in excess of 10k yet they keep losing money; why?
Are the players overpaid? Does the club have drains on finance not in the public eye?
With professional accountants reviewing finances as part of the franchise process how did this be allowed to happen? Was it another cover up by the RFL who wanted to turn a blind eye since they felt Bradford were too big to fail? Questions have to be asked.
A million pounds is an immense sum and I fear not possible to be raised in such a short period of time. It seems that RL clubs are becoming play things for people with deep pockets. Even Glover admitted that Wakefield has cost more than he anticipated. Even so James Elston said last year we were making a profit and this year we must be getting close to an income level which is able to balance the books, new stands aside.
To be fair, I've looked at the Bradford team sheet in recent years and not been impressed or fearful of the names on it. A few positives have stood out like Burgess, Orford and indeed Menzies yet in comparison to today I certainly don't think their squad is anymore desireable than ours.
Bradford have suffered a cash drain either through bad management, unwise investment in over paid average players and staff, or a combination of the two.
I really feel for the decent Bradford fans. What I am confident about is that if the administration does happen (which I suspect it will) then the phoenix from the flames will be something the fans can be proud of. In 2-3 years they could be a force again with the right owner.
My sympathy and support goes to the Bull fans, my despair and dislike goes to the clubs owners and the RFL who have allowed things to get this far. How many more clubs will fall this way?

You are talking about certain Bradford fans we are talking about the Ltd company that is Bradford Bulls which is an utterly different issue.
If you give money to prop up this current Bulls set up I'm sorry but you're an utter fool. If you give money to support whatever new regime rises from the ashes then I salute you. However I think you need to be a little less naive about this.
