as soon as it was called chav corner i knew where the new roof was, as an away fan i suppose the question is whe is our end to be covered? will it be in time for our visit in may? and more importantly will it be needed in may? when hopefully we'll be basking in the sun and victory lol

It will be done by then and they are doing the back half of the terrace, from the walk way to the top, the bottom half will be in the sun if we are lucky.

Just to put things straight there is no away end at BV is a family stadium not a football stadium segregated leke some rugby league grounds HTH

I accept that compared to a brand new purpose built stand it will look crap but compared to what was there before surely it looks better?

I'm not sure what you were expecting, but for a temporary structure that gets the RFL off our back, I think it looks just fine - it could have been much worse if the original, cheaper option had been delivered.

The purpose of the new stands is to give some cover if it rains. Nothing else.

You could hear more noise from the East stand. Generated a much better atmosphere.

Does anyone remember the lack of atmosphere in the ground when the South end was completely open? The flats, apart from generating lads of income and providing amazing hospitality opportunities, went a long way towards preventing the atmosphere rushing out of the stadium.

The new roof did a simular thing on Sunday by bouncing the sound from the East and North Terrace back into the ground, the roof on the North terrace will improve things even more.

It won't look pretty but it will achieve a positive effect on the match day atmosphere and it does signal our intent to be better as a club and make positive strides forward.

I'd still like to see a back put on it.

Since the old men who stand about moaning into their (overpriced) Bovril about everything from the colour of the advertising hoardings to the fact that our players gumshields are slightly to one side - decided it!

That's exactely it!! But it will add atmosphere and it could helped influence a few more fans to come who may have been wavering.

the same old men who have kept this club going through the dark years? yes bovril and anything else on match days is expensive when you are trying to exist on a pension. we don't have that much disposable income and without getting political if this government is in for much longer i can only see me having to pick my games.

fair enough, i felt you were being a bit of a pedant as we both know the majority of time i attend wakey i stand in the nrth stand as do most away fans tbh, i don't usually change ends thus enabling me to have a chat with the wakey fans at some stage of the match.

our ground technically has no away end, although most away fans stand in the west stand ( where i had a season ticket until the new expansion at the HJ which allows me to stand behind the sticks in the SE corner.)

perhaps it was me being a little sensitive, if so i apologise.

If this government is in for much longer a lot of people will be eating out of bins so you're obviously one of the lucky ones!

Yeah, and I resent my chosen area of the ground being given the same name as "THE" Chav corner at the KC, which is a completely different kettle of er.. fish.
