| I think the squad looks strong and agree it virtually picks itself. Am really looking forward to Friday and seeing our brand new team in league action for the first time. I thought we looked bright and sharp against Cas and reckon if we start throwing the ball about we have good pace out wide to do some damage. Time will tell but it's exciting and the anticipation great.

I think you'll find they are listed in alphabetical order, not positional!

| Quote ="bellycouldtackle"From watching the Batley game I would suggest that Wilkes and Raleigh are lucky to be in the 19. Both were returning from injury / operation and neither looked ready and offered little. No point playing lads who are not right. Get them ready for the Hull KR game. I would have liked to see Russ Speirs in the 19 man squad as he has played well in the pre season games. Think the backs are easy to pick, some tough decisions to be made in the pack and on the bench.'"
As much as I want to see our younger players given chances, that should not be at the expense of playing our best side. Russ has done OK in pre-season but he is still not SL standard IMO.
Wilkes was playing his first game back after an appendectomy and clearly needed the run out, he will be much better for it tomorrow. Raleigh still has to convince me but he does give us some size and some experience so he still gets the nod from me ahead of Trout and Spiers, but their time will come.

I'd hope so
P.s. I'm not sure 'run at the full back' is the most conventional tactic!

| On pre season performances alone, Trout should be in there somewhere. I personally think they will go with experience for this game, but wouldnt be that surprised if he came in.

That's no easy beat squad. We'll have to be at our best for this game. They are going to be well up for it for their first game back. Couple of ex Wakefield players wanting to show how good they are too.

| Certainly not expecting an easy game but I would hope that we will be as up for it as they are.
With my Rose tinted glasses on I would say, comparing squads and taking the best man in each position the resulting team would have more Wakey players than Widnes players.
In that case I would hope we have enough to beat them but I think it will be a hard fought battle.

Personally I can't judge it because frankly I have never heard of half of them - don't know if that is good or bad. Don't rate Ah Van and that's about all I can say.

Looking at the squads i would say you should be winning this game comfortably.

| i think both the Widnes and Salford games will be tight and its difficult the first game of the season as it usually turns into the referee show rather than a RL game. I fancy us to beat Widnes but have a feeling Cas will get beat by Salford

Unlikely!
When we get our new ground and you don't, you will be booted out of SL and will, after a few years, cease to exist.
We will of course prosper, and offer salvation to many of our near and dear neighbours by opening our wildcat hearts and letting them seek sanctuary.
Richard Wright will of course be found face down in the River Aire, when it is found out his sixth finger is a prosthesis, and he was only in it for his own good.
The RFL will move lock stock and barrel to the hallowed and indeed marbled halls of Newmarket, with its now much extended 70,000 capacity, and give us all the gold from under Woodsy's bed for no good reason..........................
Oh sorry!!! wrong dream , i'll stick with yours then! (for now!!!)

Yes, because it was a serious comment and we are so much more superior.
