He certainly is entitled, I just don't see the point of resurrecting a dead thread for the sake of making puerile comments in defence of a player who seems universally respected, if not adored, which is after all not compulsory.

Just to add my bit:

1 Peacock is undoubtedly a great of the modern game. As said, legend is often over used and could be a legend at Leeds without being a legend of the game. Personally I think he will be regarded that way across most but you usually need a memorable incident to cement that, like tries at Wembley or playing broken arm against Aussies.
Can't think of Peacocks but he has done a lot of good things so will be recognised by those who know.

2 Happy for Leeds fans to post here even if it has a hint of patronisation

3 Don't big yourself up too much. We are quite capable of bitching with any of our neighbours. Leeds being the big neighbour is not a problem to us. Some have a high and mighty attitude and it is irritating......but just as many of ours have a chip on the shoulder so the rest of us should probably leave them to it and not tar all of each others fans the same.

Heard Jamie Peacock say during an interview that as a youngster he was with Wakey but 'that didn't work out' - Seems we missed out big style there!

He is a current great in Super League.
His playing record/stats stand up next to any of the old school legends. Sometimes people for some reason dont like to think that current players are as good as the ones that have played previously?? I am 100% certain that when he has been retired 5 or 10 years he will be known as 'Rugby League Legend Jamie Peacock'

I cant think of many better British props in the last 30 years. Ward (legend) & Morley (future legend) maybe, other than that????
That and his list of honours surely makes him a legend of the modern game atleast.
