All he has done is confirm what was said last year when the council asked if there was a possibility of a feasibility study and RW said we would and your then leader refused to enter into it. There is nothing in the letter that wasn't in the public arena last year so why would RW have to inform the Wakefield that he had been asked the question - after all it is nothing new.

Can you shed any light in why he was unhappy that our club refused to participate ? A reasonable person would have expected him to be relieved that the feasibility study never progressed, after all it ended all possibilty of Cas having to play at Newmarket.

i obviously can't speak for RW however if memory serves me right the council had asked Wakey and Cas to consider a feasibility study and Ted R i believe point blank refused to take part which still beggars belief as if he and the the wakey fans had been so confident that NM was guaranteed then the study would have proved it and GH would have been dead in the water and we would have been forced to share your ground on the other hand NM may have been shot down in flames the outcome we will never know as the chap who took you to the brink of extinction refused to take part.
RW was trying to comply with the councils request he was trying to work with the council so he is hardly likely to turn round and say he was glad that you refused is he

Not sure anyone can shed light but only theory I can come up with is. That if a study had been done from a planning point of view GH may have looked the stronger option and RW got peeved as we didn't play his game. Where it all falls flat (still theory) is they dont have have project investors and we could have been in the same situation as Cas as don't think York court properties want to invest in any project a GH.

He knew GH needed the extra funding thats the only reason he even offered the possibility of us sharing GH. Plus at the time he probably felt Peter Box would see that the criteria were such there was only one winner.

Ultimately you have to ask yourself, if you'd written the letter would you think you were adding to the enquiry or causing an issue to Wakefield Trinity?
I think it is pretty clear that the letter could have been written in a more neutral way while still giving the facts.
The fact that he didn't shows his intentions. He knew it was going to be made public so quite happily set a fire under the whole issue and couldn't give 'hoot'

So although I don't think the title of he thread is correct as it is only Wright that has started this, he deserves the backlash.
It's unfortunate that the two sets of fans are set against each other for something that neither side really want and could have quite happily concentrated on their own stadium success.

For me it was never going to work for a Wakefield team to be playing in Castleford, along with Castleford. As would it be daft for a Tigers team to be playing in a stadium close to Wakefield city centre. NM is an ideal position for a shared stadium in my opinion. Not far from Wakey, not far from Cas. Throw away all the spin, individuals perception of the affair and all that tripe i dont think it is a bad location for both teams. Either that or something Normy way on. I think a neutral supporter put something similar on the VT. I think it is funny for certain Castleford posters to say we were daft for not wanting to share at GH. They would not want to share at say Ossett or Thornes for example i doubt.

Either club at what is perceived as each others ground isn't going to work. It really is that simple. Nobody wants it.

Exactly. I could see supporters drifting away from either club if they had to play home games in the others stadium.

It's like all those years of insisting that Cas were going to build their own stadium for themselves and were not in the slightest bit interested in any form of ground sharing never happened.

I would imagine that the majority of decent Cas fans would agree that RW's actions in this matter have been shameful.

Sorry but a couple of idiotic posts (the one that started this thread and the one i replied to) making a statement that includes 'all' Cas fans being classed in the same way without any prior understanding of each person or there views and opinions, education or background is pathetic and i now give you credit for adding to the stupid statements made that i highlight, get a grip ! some posters/fans of all clubs will act and make comment in the wrong way, to treat all the same due to this is ridiculous
