Why not just send Kear on gardening leave. Let Morrison or Dury run it what harm can it do. If this is an attempt to show Kear who's boss it's a spectacular mis judgement IMO.

Rather ironic considering that you don't go to games. Will you be taking up the £100 season ticket offer now Kear is going?

I disagree completely. John Kear has been fantastic for this club since he came in 2006, but this season has been a write off before it even began. And regardless of what the license decision was, there was never going to be an incentive for either the players or coach, who all knew they would be leaving at the end of the season anyway. But for Glover to put Kear on gardening leave would be humiliating to a coach who has given so much to the club over the last 5 years, one who has guided us through some of the most difficult times imaginable. John Kear deserves a lap of honour at the Bradford game for what he has done for our club, which without him would have been in Championship for the last 5 seasons. And I include this season in that, as some of these players should not even be playing Super League, never mind winning games.

| The team I want on the field is the one most likely to win games. We could win two out of the last three games (Cas and Bulls) and play Leeds the week after Wembley. I don't want to finish bottom.
I don't see the players day in, day out, and so I don't know which is the best team, but I don't buy the idea that we should lose with plucky youngsters, to see how they go.

I would be more concerned about their judgement if they just let Morrison or Dury run it for a couple of weeks. As has already been suggested to send Kear on gardening leave would look rather shabby and be a tad unfair to Kear as far as I'm concerned.
If this is the only negative you kind find with Glover and Elston at the moment then it would appear that you are clutching at straws. The season ticket deal looks like a belter and the stadium plans are going ahead it would seem so Glover looks to be putting his money where his mouth is but you seem to be finding it hard to give him any credit at all. I know it's early doors and nobody is asking people to bow at his feet, though some are, but he deserves a bit more credit than some seem prepared to give.

Nothing tongue in cheek about my original post, LA. Like I said, I'm not in a position to comment on the performance of individual players when I haven't seen them play, but even from my vantage point, it doesn't take a genius to see that things aren't working. To persist with the same players week in, week out, on the back of numerous hidings, can't be doing anyone any good.
Personally, I can't see what harm it would do to give young players who are ready to make the step up (or who have already done so) a run out in a game like this. I don't claim to be an expert, but when you have an overseas signing who's a recognised full back and playing 4 games at the end of the season with the hope of an extended contract, then you need to play him at full back to see what you're getting. When you have a young scrum half with a good kicking game who's already played 1st team rugby, played well, by all accounts, and offers you creative options, you need to play him, especially when your other options are shot. The same goes for any of the other lads who might make the grade. What is there to lose?
I just don't get it, which is why I asked the questions.

| What if some of the players were not signed with Kear's blessing? What if he his picking the players who were signed by others? I've no evidence to suggest this is the case, but perhaps he was given players he didn't want, and is picking them knowing them to shove two fingers who did sign them? Just a thought.

In assessing my expertise at rugby matters, I ought to say that at half-time I texted my Wigan mate and said "I think the Bulls might nick this."

Good post. Sending JK on gardening leave now would be verging on petty and vindictive. I don't agree with his selection policy, however maybe the thinking is why throw the kids in to what a meaningless games when the academy side still have something to play for? Maybe there is a method in his madness?

The primary idea of the academy is to develop players, not to win pots. Great as winning the the whole thing was in 09, not many of that group have really kicked on because of limited opportunities where the development really takes an upward curve. I think a good number of the equivalent kids in the Cas team are now featuring in SL, yet the Trinity team at the time were better than them.

The most highly regarded of that 09 team is at Bradford and he has not developed, is that Wakefield coaching at fault?

| Did any of us realy see a good season this time round with the players we managed to scrape up and play for the club.Lets face it who in the world would have Jeremy Smith in the side apart from a side in desperate times. If we all hand on heart tell the truth we all thought we would be crying in our beer at the end of the season and would be going out of the top flight.I thought once the RL had told Halifax to put a bid for SL in that both Wakey and Cas would be the ones to go and the agenda of getting the clubs to merge would have been won.I could not see a single victory with this side this season but lo and behold they did win.Yes it would be great to win the last 3 games seeing who the clubs are but we have next season to look forward to and I know its great to have the bragging rights but cant see that happening.I cant understand Kears logic in who he picks and I would give the young guns a bench slot at least and the one good thing is a lot of the players not performing wont be at BV next season.Role on next season its a new start to a new dawning.

| The fact still remains, we need to score points today. Who really believes Smith/Lee will pose any problems/create anything to bother the Cas defence ? (other than maybe a kick on the last tackle bouncing off the upright). Hope I'm proven wrong today but the writing looks well and truly on the wall.

| After watching James Davey in the reserves a couple of weeks ago at Hull KR i cant believe he isnt getting a game. Looked a real livewire to me and whilst i appreciate it was at a far lower level of rugby than Super League i reckon he could have given Castlefords currently bashed up pack plenty to think about.

We were all "happy" early in the season, with our group of youngsters and mis-fits rolling their sleeves up and having a go, regardless of the result and no, we didnt expect much in regards to final leage position. However, I have never witnessed such negative non-attackin RL in my lifetime.
Relying on "luck" from the last play has been our only "tactic" all season and the current squad, whatever people may think, is capable of much, much, more.

Yes not seen him have a bad game in the first team. Way Kear treats some of the younger players its a good job hes off or a few of them would have been.

Think you may have missed my point. I don't think Kear is deliberately getting it wrong. I think he wants to stay and see it through, but being Kear he wants to prove a point. The problem IMO is he can't do that because he's lost the team.
I fear but I may be wrong that AG who is new to RL wants Kear to see out his notice as he would in most other industries. But this is RL and it doesn't work. Kear is now a liability and it will show on the gates.
We now have a situation where Kear is the instant scapegoat for everything. When in fact half the team are tossing it off and they know Kear can't or wont do anything about it. He's a lame duck President.
Have to say I'm very surprised at your OTT Glover is beyond reproach comments when he most certainly isn't. I thought you more savvy than to go down that route. I'm not looking for points to pull him up on, he simply provided an important one IMO. Why the assumption that every less than glowing comment regarding the new owner is an act of betrayal is beyond me.
I should imagine AG is so weighed down at present with sycophantic bandwagon jumpers he would be relieved when the odd one occasionally got off his back and walked by themselves.
Good day to you.
