Given the strong rumours from posters who are reliable I would like to change my vote to the decision already being made and us being out.

As far as I can see there are only two ways we can stop up, the rest for me is wishful thinking but I hope I'm wrong. For me it's between us and Cas and always has been.

1: An existing SL club collapses between now and the next SL season (sooner the better). Most likely is Crusaders, I don't get this Quins voluntary suicide idea at all.

2: That the RFL/Savills see through Castlefords smoke screen and make a genuine decision based on facts and genuine timescales funding etc - and we win fair and square.

For me no1 is far better IMO, clean and simple with very little fall out IMO. Crusaders in particular will not be missed other that by a few VT expansionist zealots. Unfortunately no2 has more of a chance of actually happening and that is really frightening, depending on the honesty and integrity of the RFL and it's "big" club self interest.

The best and probably only chance Wakey have is that the Crusaders go to the wall. The RFL are watching the takeover of Wrexham FC very closely and nervously as the ramifications on the Crusaders are huge. Wakey are a back up plan, if it all goes through smoothly in Wrexham then we are gone.

He claims he had offers from other SL clubs and turned them down in favour of Crusaders. Now unless he or his agent are completely wet behind the ears, this would indicate there is already no doubt Crusaders will be playing SL rugby next year, i.e. decision made.

As for not being missed - lighten up, it was a joke. The zealots on the VT will miss Crusaders, and Keith Senior will miss them, as he's just signed a 2 year contract. OK, maybe not the funniest joke in the world, but all the same.

Why?It has only gone quiet since ths CC meeting before that communication was fairly good.

Interesting such a large amount of people think we are done for? Does that say more about the process than the club?

I think it says everything about the process.

We as fans know that our bid is far stronger than other clubs but we also know how bent the RFL are.

Been told today a meeting at RFL 2 days ago and decision was made. All directors from clubs were their and was announced as us dropping out. Apparently Richard Wright kicked off about it saying it was unfair.

The system is that bent that this sounds a likely occurrence.

But I do have one question. Why not announce it now put us all out of our misery so we can all get on with it?

from a business point of view should have been announced after season. Think there will be some people not bothering to go once announced. Also from players point of view most of them will have superleague contracts so they can start talking to other clubs as soon as announced doubt will be waiting for september. If we want players more than likely it will not happen until after September either which puts us behind we recruiting. Another point is will it cause any trouble. As you know sledging between fans is good banter but can see a breaking point for a few fans at remaining games. Better to announce this when season done if you ask me.

Exactly. The coach and the players have been acting like it for a while, so just get it announced. In fact if we know (ie the club) we should come out and say so and spoil Skys franchise announcement programme scheduled for the 26th

This is a good point and when you look at the fixtures we play Crusaders a couple of days after it is announced. If their travelling fan starts shooting his mouth off I can see a few of our fans giving him a good hiding.

From a business perspective one thing that has been overlooked in all this is how the RFL will support their decision from a financial perspective. Come July 26th, if is looking likely, Wakefield are shown the door, what incentive is there for us to play out the remainder of the season? Crowds will inevitably fall, takings will fall, and the commitment of the players will undoubtedly disappear completely. Do the RFL expect us to complete our outstanding Super League fixture commitments without offering some kind of financial support. At the end of the day, we are a business, and following up the blow of being dropped with a financial hit is simply not right.

Well of course it isn't true, it's made up gossip/speculation as far as I can tell. So where are Savilles in this? Why would Richard Wright care? In the last franchise as far as I can remember the clubs knew on the day about an hour before it was announced publicly, why has that changed?

Thats my recollection too. I distinctly remember Cas not getting their email and subsequently brinking it at the thought they'd lost out. Turned out it was just an oversight.

i for one would think that this is unlikely. 1) we're better than that (broadly speaking) as a group of people and would self-police, and 2) they won't bring any fans.

Now as I've been in this situation many times myself I will not doubt what you are reporting - i.e. that someone at the club has told you that - but do you honestly believe that they would, or could even, say any different?

The truth is that none of us know, but most of us can work it out!

Co the decision has been made, the boards that Mr Lewis will stand infront of the give the verdict are already done, they dont do them at the last minute as theres lots of planning before hand,
