| I though hickey although short spells has gone ok but just ok.
Needs a tough offseason and we may see a good return.

Unless we get a licence he will be back home and it will have been a big waste of time. If we do get a licence and he gets a full off season then he may work out ok.

You know, I so agree with that. TBF this year it's understandable last year not so. I'd bet money on a Kear side made up of the last 17 signing in a way I'd never do in one he'd picked from a full squad. That's not a dig it does just seem to be his greatest strength.
Perhaps England is his best option as coach.

| The only chance Kear is on to a winner is if he picks his nose.
I do agree with us looking a better outfit when Kear hasn't many options (hence his only tactic helping us beat Shudds) but why stick with him if things are looking up?
I think when you are down to your last 17 or so there's more pressure on the Trin lads to play well, I think we have too many bad apples that are quite willing to sit a week out if they have a dip in form

Well much as I don't think he's ready yet I'd have him above Hickey - but I'd still go King (just), Korky, Amor and Higgins before Gledhill - sorry.
Come on you must be a relative of Gledhill, he's pretty much the only subject you post on?

No I just like to see you make the same comment time after time. I simply think he and the other props including Spiers must wonder what they have done wrong to be replace for the last 3 weeks by Hickey who may have a bility but is providing absolutely no contribution to the team with 18 minutes playing time per match and half of that spent with his hands on his knees.

True but what I'm saying Is that he or Spiers wouldn't get in anyway as I suspect Johnson would take any vacant spot in the F/R.
If say King and Korky were injured I'd do it them - Amor, Higgins, Johnson and Gledhill but I'd call that a lightweight pack to say the least but it would do OK in a one off allowing Hickey to perform his Zumba fitness classes in the Academy!

| I am sure his spell at Fev will give him the game time he needs as development is not very fast when you play two weeks in every eight.
Most players have to prove theirselves in the academy when coming back from injury or trying to break into the side. If it works for Jeremy Smith, Motu Tony, Korki, et al then it should be the same for Hickey. The trouble is that politics often dictate selection. If we spend big money, big publicity and have been courting a players for months then JK has to back this up with showing what he feels is a good ROI. Unfortunately it can backfire, but how many weeks do we have to wait before it comes to fruition and not destroy others motivation.

Delicate balance I agree. As I say as far as I'm concerned yes Gledhill over Hickey for now - don't know how restrictive the loan is.
One thing though, from what I'm told Gledhill is not pulling up trees at Fev and he should be. No one is guaranteed an easy ride and that includes Gledhill not just Hickey. If he feels put out by going to Fev he should take the knock and be making a point it works both ways.

| Certainly not put out he loves it and just needs some game time and to go back to his natural game which is aggressive running and hardnosed defence. (As opposed to trying to do fancy footwork and trying to alter running position etc). He has not pulled up trees but think this will change over the next couple of weeks as he beds in to the team and gets used to moves etc.
Game time provides confidence which provides success which provides game time.

Hope he does, good news. I really feel sorry for Gledhill, not because I think he demands a place - but because he was always going to struggle to live up to that debut. Probably the finest by a Trinity youngster I've ever seen.

I doubt it. Though it was almost like having him there when Lee turned his back at the play the ball a couple of times!

Don't know tbh, he would for me but I think maybe JK is playing the big lad to justify signing him? I quite like Korki even if he is a little slow at the play the ball, what he lacks in skill he makes up for in effort for the RW+B. Jury still out on the big fella.

| In addition to Morrison & Moore missing the game, Hickey, Murphy & Paul Johnson are also doubts. Long afternoon ahead if they all miss out.
